Topic: Dr. Ryan Heider located in Mooresville, NC
I just want to post a message for anyone looking for a  Bariatric Surgeon in the United States. Because I had to pay for the surgery out of pocket,  I was looking for surgeons in Mexico due to the cost here in the States and was really giving up hope on ever having my life back. That is when I found Dr. Ryan Heider located in Mooresville, NC.   He is extremely reasonable and you can feel SAFE by staying in the States  for surgery and after surgery care. I had my surgery May 19, 2011 and am losing weight like crazy.  I had the Gastric Sleeve procedure and have had no complications.   I didn't even have a need to take pain meds after leaving the hospital!!  Incredible.  Oh...and I only have two small incision sites.  Even more incredible.  My visits to his office located in Mooresville, NC are always very positive with the most helpful staff.  I am always treated with respect and kindness. Dr. Heider's bedside manner is impeccable.  He is kind, caring and mostly empathetic to the needs and concerns of an obese patient.  His office offers support meetings, nutrition counseling, psychological evaluations, dietary supplements and his office is located in the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center facility where he performs the bariatric procedures.  I can only say positive things about the hospital and the staff who took care of me.  WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!  Thank you Dr. Heider for giving me my life back!!!        - jennifer

I didn't have to lose any weight prior to surgery but my doctor strongly recommended it. He wanted my liver to be as small as possible.

So it worked a bit did it? Baking soda is great for a lot of things to be honest.

My day is gunna work soemthing like this- have to take EVERY article of clothing out of our closet because SOMETHING got in there and caused a major odor issue. Wasn't the cat because she doesn't go anywhere near there. I dunno if a mouse somehow got in the house and died but wooo weee it is awful so I am gunna clean the closet up AND wash all those clothes. Yes they have a slight funky odor to them. I look at it this way- I will clean out the closet and the fresh smell of cleaned clothes will keep it stinky good it there (stinky good is something my preschoolers at my old job used to say when I wore CHerry Vanilla). I am also clearing out the pantry and reling the shelves in all the cabinets. Then gunna clean out my fridge and freezer plus the deep freezer. I will be getting my workout area ready too. DH wants to make sure that when I come home from surgery that everything is NEARBY where I can easily get to it if he is in the bathroom or down at his mom's checking on her. SO yea gunna be a busy day.

I am going to start stocking up on some essentials this weekend so when I get home from surgery we will NOT have to go anywhere unless it is to the doctors or something.

So have you heard anything about your stuff yet? I would be ******g nails right about now.

Hi all,

It is 5am and 76 degrees already.  Thank you for the baking soda suggestion!  I am feeling somewhat better!

Today is basically staying cool.  I have to do some recycling this morning and pick up hubby this evening.  He went to NYC to a concert with his son and his son's mom.  Someone pick pocketed his son's wallet.  I am sure he is not a happy camper.  Gotta protect what's yours in crowds.

Got the support group set up for Aug. and Sept.  I am hoping soon it will smooth out.  I am thinking about going to the Duke meeting on the 26th.  I am feeling very spoilt with all these support groups.  In PA, I was it!

What are you all doing today?

I go in for surgery on 8/29. I was required by my insurance to loose 10+ pounds. And you are lucky. my caloric intake has been roughly 1200 a day since March. I know I am getting less because I have been getting physically hungry in the evening. Yes it is actual hunger and not head hunger- cuz my tummy will growl. THank goodness for ice and crystal light. LOL

Just curious... How much did your surgeon require that you lose before he/she would perform surgery?  My surgeon has not stated yet the exact amount, other than they just want me to lose weight.  Just to clarify, I am on the "pre-pre-surgery" diet.   1500 calories a day.

I know you've to to be so excited!!!! In case no one has mentioned it to you,  take pictures and your measurements before surgery. Things start changing so fast and you'll want to look back and remember what you looked like when it all began. I also kept a journal.  Good Luck!!

Hi-  It has been good for me and is a growing group (numbers, not weight!).  We will meet again on July 28, 2011, at the Halifax Health Links in the local mall.  The meeting starts promptly at 6 pm and runs 1 hour.  We will be continuing a tasting with protein products.  A lot of the leaders are associated with the local hospital and have had surgery and are very knowledgeable.  Looking for interested people who have either had surgery, are considering it or are support people.  Let me know if there is anything I can do.  Janice

benedryl?  Also try taking a sit down bath in some room temp water with a bit of baking soda in it. Now you are going to hae to rub it onto your skin, but it helped me when I had a bad reaction to poision oak a few years ago. It also worked when my histimines got out of hand due to a bug bite. after sitting in it for a bit then rinse off and PAT dry do not rub.

If this does not help then it may mean having to go see a doc, cuz it could be something BAD BAD BAD. I did say COULD BE right?

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooh, I am hurting and itching like crazy! My legs look they have been under attack!  I need to find a soothing balm to put on them.  Any suggestions?  I've been using anti-itch cream but that doesn't do anything.

Today I drop hubby off at the airport to spend the the next 24 hours with his son in NYC to go to a U2 concert.  Tonight I am going to shadow a winesforhumanity wine tasting.  I want to see if this is something I could do while waiting for that big opportunity.  That's about it.

You?
