Topic: Crying since Monday but not now!!!
I went to the Dr. on Monday and I hace 0 protein in my  body and have a dangerous amounts of ketones in my pp. She said I have 0 fat cells that every move I make is burning muscle. And my heart is a muscle. I been having chest pain. She said I had to get in 50 grams of protein a day. I don't do shakes or bars. They have sugar or milk. ( puke, puke) I spent hours today in the grocery store to find something I can eat. Because the Dr. said at this point even a feeding tube want help. I let it go to long. Well anywho.... I found som stff I can eat with lots of protein. I did not know cottage cheese (SP) has protein in it. It has 50 grams in it. I love it with pineapple. I also got some tuna and salmon in little thin packs, it is loaded in protein. Got some broccli in cheese sauce. And some turkey deli turkey meat. That should fix me right up. I pray to my Loving God it does. So ladies please keep doing any kind of protein you can get in. I was one to never do protein, vitamins or exercise. I'm paying for it now. So please do what your doctor tells you. I don't know you but I care.

Wooo Ladies I sure am glad I had mine done 6 years ago. Things sure did change. I had to have a phych evel but it was just a test on paper. And one visit with the nut. And one week liquid diet. I was approved in like 1 or 2 days. I had no real health issues. Just my kneese wore out. No dibetes. No heart problems. No high blood pressure. Just wore out knee joint. And at my age they wouldn't replace the joints. They just said get the weight off them. Woooo sounds hard now a days.

Hope you find the $500 easily and soon.

I had my egd today, so I spent most of it sleeping and am about to go back to that activity.

Tomorrow I meet with the sleep specialist. Not sure what to expect from that.

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Welcome to OH!  I am new too.  Good luck with the tricare, I wish I could help but I have no experience with them.

I had my EGD today and still feel kind of loopy.  I meet with the sleep doc tomorrow morning and have an appointment with the hematologist in August.  I already have an apt. w/the pysch my clinic uses, but can't remember when it is.  I met with the nutritionist yesterday (though I will readily admit I haven't eaten very well today, can I blame it on the drugs?).

I am also having a RNY. I wanted a sleeve but insurance doesn't cover it.

Good luck with everything. Hope the sleep study goes well for you. It's nice to have someone who is experiencing the same things. :-)

Yes, my doc has support group meetings at CMC-Mercy every 4th Tuesday of the month at 6pm. I went to my first one this past Tuesday. Met some very nice people.

What doctor are you seeing?

Thanks for the input!  I've been working with TriCare but the problem is that they don't know which of the psych doctors do the evals....I've been calling all the ones who list eating disorders as one of their specialities.  I did reach one today who does psychiatric evaluations vs psychological evals - I emailed Dona at Dr. Tyner's office to see if that'll work.  Thanks again!!

Topic: RE: OMG the type of surgery bashing....
Anytime you're dealing with different personalities, you have to take it with a grain of salt.  At first, i was pretty unhappy that people were so-called 'bashing' other surgeries... but it was mostly because I *really* had my mind sent on one thing, and didn't want my confidence shaken at all.

I'm so, so glad that they were persistent.  I've become far more informed now than I was... and I made my decision based on my own findings, not the opinions of others.  Extra information doesn't hurt when you're jumping into something this major.  There are some things my surgeon just didn't tell me... and because of this board, I have changed surgeons and gotten more complete information.

So, I know it can seem annoying, but I'm really happy they post these things.  Otherwise, I think I'd be living with regret down the road.

Just my two cents. :)

Thanks for all the wonderful replies. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to be welcomed so readily.

I had my egd today and am feeling a bit out of it.  Doc said everything looked good and there was nothing to indicate that we couldn't proceed with surgery.  I meet with a sleep doc tomorrow and a hematologist on the 12th.  Once I get okayed by them it is just a matter of getting through the 6 month diet and making sure they have weights for the past 5 years.

I have to go figure out dinner for the kids, hubby is working.  I am so sleepy there is no telling what they will end up eating.

Thanks again,
Kim
