Sorry to hear that. I have fatty liver disease and I know there is a high possibilty that I will have to have OPEN surgery even with me following the diet guidelines. I am doing what I can to prevent the open cut but if it happens then it will happen.

Before changing surgeons, the first one required 15lbs and the one I am with now doesn't require I loose anything during the 6 month PCP visits and says I will be on a 2 week pre-op diet to loose weight prior to surgery. When I started my visits I lost 19lbs :-) BUT during the course of the 6 months I have gained 8 of those 19 back :-( ..... Looking at surgery sometime in Sept. and I hope to loose 10-20 (or more) LOL by surgery day. Good Luck to you.

I'm scheduled for surgery on 8/8. I've lost 12 lbs since the last surgery--the one that they couldn't complete because my liver was too large. Since last Thursday I've been on four protein shakes a day to hopefully get my weight/liver down even more before the surgery. I hope and pray that it works this time. I don't know that I'll try again if it can't be done this time. Please pray for me if you're so inclined.

Do the best that you can to lose weight. Getting your liver as small as possible is key. I had surgery in May. They couldn't complete it because my liver was too large. They had to close me up and send me home. Take the diet seriously.

Have you checked Wal-Mart? I just bought some shorts there a couple of weeks ago and I looked at some capri pants. It's worth a try.

So I have spent all weekend looking for size 8 shorts and capris. Yesterday went to probably 15 yard sales and 10 consignment / thrift shops. I even sent a message to my friends on facebook letting them know that I was looking for size 8 clothes and if anyone knew anyone who was cleaning out I would be glad to buy them. I have bid on several lots on ebay and lose out at the last minute. I have been checking out craigslist 3-4 times a day. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me?
It's frustrating because when I was bigger I could never find anything in my size . Now I still can't. I am finding 6's and 10's but no 8's. There are jeans and such available but the weather here won't start cooling until October. Most of the chain stores have already brought in their fall clothing.
So, If you see me out and about and I have the "sag" going on I appologize in advance. I am working on it.
If anyone near Cary, or Raleigh knows of some good shops for me to check please let me know. I am desperate.

Well today is gunna be another one of those busy days. Yesterday was all wedding stuff for the DH's Neice. I told the DH that he was gunna take my BEFORE pic. HOLY SMOKES!!!! All I can say is I looked good but um......... yea I really should have chosen darker colors to hide me. I will be glad when I can look at pictures and not cringe because of what I have done to myself.
Today we have to go to his mom's after church is over- nether of us are going because neither of us have really slept, he works midnights and although he could have gotten a nap for like a n hour last night he decided not to chance it and I couldn't sleep because my back was screaming (stupid Aunt Flo and TOM). So yea at 12ish down to his mom's then at 2 to a memorial service for his Aunt Betty. So another full day.
Today we have to go to his mom's after church is over- nether of us are going because neither of us have really slept, he works midnights and although he could have gotten a nap for like a n hour last night he decided not to chance it and I couldn't sleep because my back was screaming (stupid Aunt Flo and TOM).
