Changes....

I went to GNC today and got some whey protein and the isopure drinks. I havent tried anything yet but Ive heard the isopure drinks dont taste very good. I guess some chicken broth is next? I did a search for "silver bullet" on ebay and most of them are sex toys....lol. I ordered a silver bullet (the blender) on ebay and it should be here soon. Got it for 34 dollars brand new, including shipping. My H Pylori and UGI tests are on May 14th. As far as I know Dr V has everything he needs to review and send in to Medicaid for approval. Anybody know how long this takes? I thought my blood sugar was really under control and doing well. Ive cut back on eating fast food, am walking a lot more, and it still just has a mind of its own. So far it is tied more to stress than anything else. On stressful days it is over 370, even with metformin, glipitrol(sp?), exercise, and diet. On days with no pressing needs and no stress it is 90, as long as Im taking the meds. If I dont take the metformin twice a day and dont have any stress its still about 160 to 190 which still isnt good... I guess its in some way a part of my trying to come to terms with this surgery but Ive been thinking about my life and where I want it to go in the future. I think my perceptions of myself and how others percieve me will definitely change in ways I cant even begin to understand or predict yet. I think many of the things Ive taken for granted will change, mostly for the better. Has anyone else gotten all philosophical like this? lol. I feel like a dummy for thinking about things like this but I guess its my way of dealing with a major life change....

It does sound like a vibrator *Blush* they are great...the blender. Robert ,I hate those Isopure drinks... they taste slimey to me. Have found that if I mix Isopure powder 1 scoop(25G of protien) with 8 oz of water and a packet of orange or raspberry crystal light and ice cubes it tastes really good. I have also mixed with SF cherry koolade and heaven forbid prune juice. Oh yes... drink that stuff everyday. Any way, the vanilla powder mixes to clear after it sits for 10 min. so it really does quench the thirst and get in the protein. I have only been able to tolerate the Alpine punch bottles. That stuff even smells bad. But some people swear by it. You will find that one day somerthing tastes awsome and the next day it makes you gag. Good luck friend Gail

hi RM, you asked about medicaid and how long it takes for approval? i have medicaid and they dont except faxes so everything needs to be mailed to raleigh and then mailed back. it took my papers a week for an approval. i live close to raleigh so it took a day for raleigh to recieve them . it shouldnt take very long at all. all i can say is that i hope a 6 month supervised diet was included in the papers cause it put every thing on hold for me last yr. they would not budge on that diet. i got it taken care of and got my approval. 7 weeks out and 50 lbs down. i feel so good. hope this helps. adrienne

Ive been seeing my PCP about my weight for several years on and off. Most recently I had appointments to see him in October, November, January, February, March, April and again this Month as well. Of course I dont knwo what his notes say but we defionitely discussed the causes of my weight gain, handling stress, my diabetes, high blood pressure, etc etc etc . I know my surgeon requested his notes for the past 8 months but I didnt get to see them. I know what those notes SHOULD say but I guess Ill find out soon enough wont I?
