I know there used to be a group in Boone but I haven't seen anything lately about them. I am due to have surgery within the next few months (if the ins. company cooperates!) and would love to have some others to talk to.
Frye surgical group has a support group in Boone. I think it is a pretty good group. 327-9178 is the number for Frye surgical program and they can give you the information.
