OMG its a pain in the butt. I have been eating tuna in water ,boiled/seared beef , boiled (yuck)/seared chicken. I say yuck on boiled chicken because it is just nasty but I keep telling myself it is worth it in the long run, I think I actually have mytastebuds starting to beleive it. SF Jello with New Whey protein in it. Did this by replacing the cold water portion with the New Whey, will not be doing that again because not only does it take too many tubes for 2 boxes of Jello but because it is a bit expensive to do it that way. I also found a 4 carb Soy Protein Powder that tastes like vanilla ice cream. I do that for breakfast now instead of making myself something to eat because I find it is more filling than egg whites.

Anyhoo my body is trying to revolt against me, I found myself  carrying a granola bar into the living room last night and I honestly do not remember picking it up. TOld the hubby that he needs to hide that stuff for awhile, because I am NOT going to fail this.

Most seared/grilled meats are wonderful and great with a bed of colorful carbs which allows you to have a high protein, low carb diet that is flavorful. Re: 'Boiled' meats, I do a lot of 'braised' meats, but not boiled because boiling tends to actually remove flavors and leave the meats tough. Be sure that you are adding spices and herbs to your meals so that you can enjoy what you are eating. No matter what stage you are in the process, you should not have eat stuff that tastes yuck... especially post op. Once you have your surgery, you will have limited real estate for food and I always want every bite to be nothing short of WONDERFUL since I can't have much. There are a few things you can try. For example, for the chicken, you can make a wonderful stuffing for tacos by cooking the boneless, skinless pieces of breast or thigh meat in a crock pot with a can of Rotel with Green Chiles and some taco season mix. It will be moist and flavorful. You can take the meat and serve it over baby spring greens that are full of vitamins and minerals, then add some tomatoes, and some other colorful carbs and you'll have a delightful lunch or dinner. Of course, there are plenty of other things you can do, but that's one of many.

Good luck!

I actually like boiled beef, and yes I use plenty of seasoning when I boil something. I have never really like boiled chicken and do not do it too often.

Found myself digging for granola again tonight (that stuff is so good but high in carbs, so I need to stay far far away from it) so I went and got a SF popsicle and some ice to munch on. I dont chew the ice I more or less sit there running it back and forth over my teeth with my tongue, do that long enough and the head quits screaming it wants food and the teeth scream for relief from the cold. LOL!!!! I also use the ice when i get to craving a cigarrette, I quit awhile back and still have those cravings from time to time. Hopefully those become almost nonexistant.
