I just got off the phone with my NEW surgeon and I am scheduled to go see him @ 10 am tomorrow morning, YES!!!!!! I have been sweating it out for two weeks and finally decided to call Tri-Care today to find out what was up and they gave me my auth number along with the dates for my allowances. AWESOME yes very awesome. She told me that barring any complications I could be going in for surgery in roughly a month since I had already done all the stuff over at Womack that I had to do, so I am good on that. I just have to do the cardio test and the thyroid test and I will be good to go. Just have to wait on the authorization for the surgery itself which takes roughly 2 weeks (7 to 10 business days) to be denied or approved. So kind of floating on clouds right now but I just know someone today is gunna pop my giggly little bubble.
I am going to contine with all the stuff I have been doing that I learned at Womack and will do all the other stuff that is supposed to happen before surgery (doing this as though I am still getting it done at WOMACK). I do not have to do the 6 month supervised diet which is a good thing because I do not feel like waiting another 6 months, I have been waiting long enough already. WOmack has stricter guidelines than my new surgeon does so I think sticking with what i have been doing is a good bet. That way I am almost guaranteed to have any more hiccups along the way unless there is a blood panel that comes back funky I should be good to go. Sorry this is so long but I am so happy right now.

And there is now a hiccup. LOL I knew my bubble was going to get popped. I have to wait like a week for all my medical records to get to me, what a load. I went to the base and they said they could give me my records today but since they were going to be closing in 10 minutes I had to wait. OK so what were they going to do for that 10 minutes? I know, I know I should be apatient BUT I was not told to get my records until today or I would have done it all by now. I am going to get copies of everything for my own records so this doesnt happen again.
Hi Bonnie,
Congratulations!! We all know that the waiting is just about the hardest part of this journey, so hang in there. It will be over before you know it and you'll be sharing your news about how many pounds you've lost in no time. I look forward to hearing about your upcoming surgery.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

Actually more than half way. I met with the surgeon today and about 4 other people. I MIGHT have to get thyroid panel (unless my pcm did that back in March) and I have to do the Cardio test. Oh and the high protein low carb diet then the cabbage soup diet for a week before surgery. So yea more than half way.
it takes approximately 7 to 10 days for me to be approved for the surgery itself. Tri-Care is so weird in that.
