Ok so i'm 2 years post op RNY. I just got married in April and am already pregnant!!!! I would like tips about how to have a safe and successful pregnancy. Also any tips of how not to gain alot of weight and to lose the weight afterward are welcomed as well.

Thanks,

Amanda,

First of all, congratulations on the lovely blessings you have had in your life this year! Secondly, you will probably find a great deal of information and support on the Pregnancy forum.  I know of several women who have successfully enjoyed their pregnancies and gotten back down to their pre-pregnancy weight after delivery. Remember to take care of yourself and you will have to eat more, but you won't be 'eating for two'. If you keep a level head through the pregnancy and gain enough weight to ensure a healthy baby, but not consider it a license to eat whatever crosses your path, you'll do well. Remember that most of what the baby needs is also what you need. Plenty of protein and colorful carbs. As long as you stay on that path and minimize the simple carbs, you'll do just fine.

Again, warmest congratulations,

Barbara
