5 years
Doing my yearly check-in.... I will be 5 years out in a few days.
Doing well... had my yearly physical and all my bloodwork came back excellent, my iron is a little high so I am cutting back on my iron suppliments but otherwise doing excellent. I am still dilligent about taking all my suppliments/vitamins and making sure to get in my protein and all that good stuff!
Still maintaining my loss... I am up around 3-4lbs since my lowest but have been holding steady there. I have been recommitting myself to eating better and working out more. I have been having issues with my hip which has put a damper but with this nicer weather I am getting back out there and working out. I have noticed as I am getting older eating/exercise is much more imporant... also how my body is carrying weight is changing... getting old stinks! LoL.
I am very proud of how far Ive come over the past 5 years and that I have been successful at not only losing weight but keeping it off.
This surgery is for life, you have to go in knowing that you will always be a gastric bypass patient and have to be dilligent about your vits/supps follow ups with the Drs and following a healthy diet.. the surgery is a tool its up to you to use it!
