Does anyone want a Durham group?

Hi all,

Since I moved down here, I am wanting to start a Durham group to be a "sister" group of the one in Raleigh.  We could join forces when either group has special events or speakers etc.  So, I am gathering interest info.

It would be nice to have another group that meets on a different week. I am sure a lot of us would attend both groups especially if they were spaced a couple of weeks apart each month. Of course my attendance will depend on where the DH and I end up. He has a couple of interviews with a company in the Triangle and a company in NM. Also we should be hearing about the UT job this week as well. It has really been a drought of job possibilities over the last two years but suddenly there has been a lot of action in his field of work. Its about time too, since we literally have run out of resources and money LOL!

Hey Ann,

I'm really praying that you two get offers from all three and are able to pick the cream of the crop. Of course, I want the cream of the crop to be the RTP position, but that's just because we'd love to continue to have your input, support and friendship.

Do let me know if you start a Durham group. I'd be interested. My surgery is June 3rd and I live here in wonderful Durham. I've not gone to a support group and this is my first step into the forums and chat groups. An actual group would be lovely. I've already run into a wall; I'd love to have someplace to meet or someone(s) to call.

I need to do some research on possible locations to have it.  I also will need to get some feedback from all of you as to the day and time you want to meet.

I'd be able to do weekedays at 7pm or 6:30pm at the earliest, except for Thursdays. I l**** the idea of it eing on alternating weeks. When does the other support group meet? Do they do weekday evenings or weekends or what?

They meet 3rd Saturday of each month and the DS group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month so a weekday meeting will probably work.  I am going to be looking for a location soon.

Are you and your friends still interested in a group?  I have had another inquiry and I want to get the email list started so I can talk to you all.  Let me know.

I was very discouraged to find that none of the folks who signed up answered my email. Add me to the list and I'll send you the other 5 emails when I get home tonight. Did you see the post from the gentelman from Chapel Hill? He might also be interested.

Thanks for continuing with this! I'm psyched about it. My surgery is June 3rd - next Friday so I'd miss anything scheduled in the next two weeks.

I have sent him a response also.  I will get all of you on an email list and then we can do some brainstorming together.  I am shooting for July as a start month. 

I will be in CA while you are having surgery.  My stepdaughter is getting married that Saturday.  I will be thinking about you.
