X-Post: Update on Glory G (DS Surgery)
I visited Glory G in the hospital yesterday, and she is doing great! She had her surgery with Dr. Sudan on Tuesday morning. She thought the surgery had taken a longer time because of her previous abdominal surgeries (she had a lap band, and had it removed a while ago), but her surgery was 5 hours, the same as my "virgin" DS surgery. Sudan said everything went smoothly.
She looked very upbeat and seemed to have plenty of energy for someone one day post-op. She had been up walking three times already. She has been having some discomfort with her bladder and that has kept her from sleeping well, but this was something that happened to her after a previous surgery as well so she is expecting it will correct itself. She is looking forward to being able to drink water soon (Sudan won't let his patients drink anything until we pass gas) and hopes to go home on Friday if all goes well.
She has her IPad with her, so may be able to read posts, so be sure to send her all your well wishes!
