 Hi Everyone-
I am new the to NC board. I have my Roux-en-Y done in Feb 2006 in DC. At my lowest I had lost 130lbs. Here I am 5 years later..had another child and have gained about 45-50lbs back. I do Weigh****chers...work out 4xs a week...don't eat crap and I cannot seem to loose weight...its the opposite I'm actually gaining...I am going to see a doctor down here and hopefully get some answers...I'm miserable and very scared!!!!

Hi there and welcome to the NC Board. I'm glad you said you'll be seeing a doc down here - make sure that everything is still in working order and stay on top of your health.

With the WW are you keeping a food log? I ask because I recently went back to really tracking every single bite that went in - only to realize that those little bites here and there were adding up and packing the pounds on me.

This same question was posted on the WLS Graduates board as well in the past few days and someone there also suggested the poster try the Pregnancy after surgery forum for even more support.

I wish you luck. There seem to be quite a few of us who are fighting the regain. Hang in there and please start posting regularly so we can't get to know you.

Hi Beth,

I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling so, but glad you are here and that you will be seeing a local Dr. to support you.

As Iris suggested, be sure that you are keeping a very tight log of your intake and your activity. You might even consider a BodyBugg or something like that to help you with logging the information. Also make sure that you are really leveraging the power of your pouch by loading it with DENSE protein, followed by colorful carbs and staying away from simple carbs as you work to get your weight back down. Be sure that you are also abstaining from drinking 20 to 30 minutes before, during and after meals. This makes a HUGE difference in the function of the pouch. Beyond that ensure that you are not having any slider or crunchy foods which can also quickly pile on the pounds.

I don't know if it helps to know this, but I too experienced a regain and was able to lose it. My regain was about 22 lbs, but I was able to get it under control doing basically what I suggested above.

Hang in there and keep coming back here for support.

Warmly,

Barbara
