It depends on where you need 'firming' as to what you might want to try. If it is abdominal, you might want to try this by Kymaro. You can get it locally or order it online. This breathes well, holds you firm, allows you to wear your own bra. They also make a shaper for the hips. The reason I like this is because it doesn't roll down like some of the midrif shapers do and it breathes.
Good luck,

Hi Susan,
In my experience, many of the shapers that just go up to the midriff area do roll down and it doesn't really matter how 'slim' you get; I'm a size 4/6 and still have issues with that. This is one of the reasons that I liked the product by Kymaro; it has the shoulder support that keeps everything where it is supposed to be, but allows me to wear my own bra. Some of the others will work in the main body, but give the 'girls' the fit and support I'd like them to have. I think that there are now a few others on the market that have similar profile. The other thing I like about this product is that I can even where it in the summer and not suffer. All of that said, I have to admit that only wear them now if I'm really wearing a very body conscious/hugging outfit. Otherwise, I just skip them all together.
Like you, I also rarely wear anything to contain the leg giggle. Generally, hose will handle that area for me just fine.
Best of luck,
Barbara

Susan,
You are likely to wear more and more 'fitted' clothes as you slim down. I was a size 22/24 - 3X when I started and while I hoped to get down to a 12 or so, I have to say that a 10 was a dream size and I never even 'considered' a small single digit size. I have noticed that my clothing is much more 'fitted' now than it was before.
BTW... I must say that whether wearing the spanks or the Kymaro, neither actually feel like the girdles of years past.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

Toni,
Walmart and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry the Kymaro and they run 29.99. I think that you can get 'Spanks' at Macy's, Dillard's, Belks, Nordstrom's, etc... You can get a Assets that are made for Target by Spanks at Target. They are less expensive than the Spanks. Walmart also has some. Another good source are the discount chains such as TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross. You have to look a bit, but are likely to find some things at a good price.
Be sure to take in several different styles, sizes and manufacturers. They are cut and fit differently from one manufacturer to another. Over time, I have found that I tend to prefer abdominal shapers that have shoulder straps, but allow me to wear my own bra. It's often hard to find the right size bra fit/cups, but the type that just come up under your bra and don't have the shoulder straps tend to roll/slide down. It's also important to find a material that breathes.... Not as big an issue during the cool weather, but you'll really see a difference when it warms up.
I hope that gives you some good sources.
