Good Day NC - Tuesday Edition

I hope that you all are having a good day and that you are doing some things to take care of your selves. I really hope that you might share what you are doing to take care of yourself today. In doing so, not only does it help us 'focus' on what we doing to take care of ourselves, but it helps others think of things that might work for us; so please share.

I made my list of reasons I want to take care of myself today.

* For my health, I'm focusing on having strong bones, so I'm committed to getting in all of my supplements.

* For my quality of life, I'm enjoying the ability to 'fit' no matter where I want to sit, so I'm committed to starting all of my meals with protein.

* For my appearance/self-esteem, ... this is always the hardest one for me... I'm appreciating that my small frame makes my new, very, very short haircut look cute.

I hope to hear from you!

Hi barbara, hope the wrist is healing and you are sleeping better. I am doing just great. Had my one year follow-up everything checked out great. His nurse even said I need to be on their next commercial. I am excited to be speaking with my surgeon at his next pre-op meeting. I feel great about giving back and helping others with their journey.

I don't get much time to focus on myself but i am trying to prepare a plan in my head for that. Right now my energy and time is on the kids, they will only be this age for such a short time. I have a wonderful husband who takes good care of me, even if he can't talk me into going to the gym :(.

When is the Duke Raleigh support group. I do not go to the one in Durham but would be interested in the Raleigh location.

Have a great week NC

Hi Audra,

Congratulations on your successful one year  appointment and the fact that they want you to represent them. As you said, it is great to feel like you can give back. While they have not asked me to represent them, so I don't know how that would feel, I do know that I feel a great deal of satisfaction in being able to give back with the support groups I run.

My wrist is still sore, but healing. It is my back and ribs that having been bothering me more, but hopefully that will get better with time. I'm still having trouble sleeping, but it is probably related to my ribs and depression and hopefully, with time that will improve as well. Thank you for thinking of me and asking.

The Duke Raleigh support group meetings are held on the 3 Thurs of each month. Here is a link to their schedule.

Again, congratulations on your success.

I look forward to seeing you soon,
