Just a quick note to say hello and touch base. I hope that you will take a minute to say hello as well.
I went to a support group meeting at Duke Raleigh last night and as usual, found it to be supportive and informative. They had the nutritionist talk about eating; imagine that ;-)! Seriously, she talked about the fact that there are no good or bad foods, but that it is moderation that is important and deprivation that can be both difficult and detrimental. She talked about the importance of present, mindful eating. She talked about recognizing the signs of fullness and that we need to keep in mind that it takes our bodies about 20 minutes to realize that we are full.
They also had a Dr from their integrative medicine group come in to talk about how our weight, the foods we eat, and how we handle or manage stresses impacts so many different areas of our overall health.
On a personal note, I got a call from my PCP telling me that they got the DEXAscan results back that are showing deterioration in my lower lumbar region and both hips :-(. I will be having my labs done and then we'll work on a plan to see what we can do to manage the osteoporosis. To say that I'm disappointed and distressed is a major understatement, but right now, I have to figure out how to manage the damage that has been done and see if there is anyway to stem the tide.

I know I have been MIA most of this week but I have had an extra busy week at work. Worked a lot of extra hours every day. I know I will sleep hard tonight from exhaustion. Last night I was over tired and ended up with only 2 hours of real sleep.
I am looking forward to a much needed pedicure in the morning and then my usual chores and errands.
That's it for me, kinda boring, but you know what....boring is really good for me.
