Hi All,

I have hit a bit of a rough patch during my recovery from surgery. I have not been feeling that great as of late. I would appreciate any positive thoughts and prayers you could send my way. I am hoping this is just a bump in the road that will seem minimal in the long term scheme of things.

Thanks and I hope all is well with everyone.

It is very normal to have those days you just feel like crap and might even question your surgery decision. These days will pass and become fewer and farther between. I myself had 3 months of hell and would still do it all over again if I had to.
Just keep doing the right thing and you will start to feel better real soon. Enough protein and liquids is the key. Listen to your body. rest when it says rest!!!!!!!!!!!
Like the song says just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and before you know it you will be walking out the door 100 pounds lighter.

Wishing you well

I did not feel good for a few months.  Even said the dreaded words.. What have I done to myself.  It has taken me 4 months to really start to feel great.  I FINALLY found a protein shake that does not make me sick and it has made a huge difference for me.  I now have a great energy that I was really lacking.  (my hair is falling out by the handfulls - but hey!  I have some energy - ha ha)

You will move past this stage, so many of us have been there.  It is not easy and this is major surgery.  Healing will take time and this board will really help.  My family (while somewhat supportive) really had no idea about what I was going through.  This forum is a great place for information and support.  We know.. so well where you are and will be here for you!

Wishing you the best.

Lisa,

As both of the other posters responded, this is avery normal part of the process. If you check my blog and look at my early postings, you will see that I too questioned if I had done the right thing. Now, nearly four years out, I have to say that it was one of the hardest, yet one of the best things I have ever done for myself. One of the things that helped me through that difficult time was a list I made of all of the reasons I wanted the surgery. I kept revisiting that list and in time was able to check off many of the reasons I had on my list, whether they were related to improvements in my health, quality of life, self esteem or appearance. To this day I revisit that list, but from a different and more empowered perspective. Now, I visit that list and select one item from that list that I want to keep in my life. Now, as I make choices throughout my day, I am making them to allow me to maintain the health, quality of life, appearance and self-esteem I worked so hard to attain as I lost the weight.

Please know that this is normal and that this too shall pass in time.

All the best,

Barbara

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, I had to briefly go back into the hospital, but the doctors now know what has been causing the problems. I am on some new medicines and there is a plan of action to get me back on my feet. It is slow going, but I am happy that I know what the problem is, I am working to get back my strength and energy. I am also looking forward to feeling better and starting to feel like my old self.

I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you again.
