Good Morning Everyone!

How was your day yesterday?  What are your plans for today?

It was another busy, busy day at the office yesterday.  I did take a break in the later part of the morning and decided to explore at our local Aldi's store.  I found some frozen cooked jumbo shrimp and grilled chicken nuggets for some protein sources.

Today is day 5 of my low carb lifestyle changes and I can see a difference in my cravings.  I did not realize how many carbs I let slip into my daily plans until I started limiting them.  I think I will continue for another week and then add the complex carbs back into my plan slowly.  I really wanted some chili yesterday so I made a very meaty chili w/o the beans to have on hand.

I reviewed by diet and noticed I had also had a lot of flavored coffee creamers there each day.  So I started drinking my coffee black or with soy/almond milk.  Those creamers have a lot of carbs in them and I can get the same results with sugar free syrups and the soy/almond milk when I want a treat or something more than black coffee.

I found a new treat the other day, cinnamon roasted almonds.  They were in 100 calorie paks and taste like candy to me.  They are sooo good and are seem to have good stats.

For today I plan on the continuing trend of being more mindful of what I put in my mouth.  I will keep hydrated with sugar free crystal light and hot tea and coffee.

Wishing everyone a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

CARRIE,

i think that being aware and accountable are the cornerstones of success in this journey. your logging your intake is such a great way to develop the awareness and personal accountability necessary take you where you want to be. kudos!! we all need to take a pulse now and then to make sure that we are on track and/or correct course. i know i do all the time.

i'm still working on getting in my allotment of supplements and am doing fairly well about getting them in. i'm not eating a whole lot right now, but i'm doing okay. when i do eat i'm trying to make sure to get in the protein and complex carbs first. honestly, i haven't had much room left for the simple carbs and like you have found that the less i have them, the less i'm drawn to them.

i've never tried the soy milk as substitute for my beloved ff half and half creamer... maybe i should give it a try.

thanks for your daily posts. i can't tell you how much i appreciate it and hope that eventually others will start to participate.

 Barbara,

The daily threads keep me mindful of what I am doing and/or eating.  I just wish I had a little extra time to check in after I get to work.  It seems like I just get to work when it is time to leave, the days have really been speeding away from me.  I know I had worked hard by how exhausted I feel when I am in the car driving home and reflecting on my day.

So as long as I have time in the morning I will post and then revisit in the evening when I get a chance.

Thanks so much for checking in with me when you get a chance.  Like you, I hope others will join in and contribute.

Have a wonderful evening sweet lady and take care of your arm.....Looking forward to actually seeing you next Saturday.
