Good Morning Everyone! Wednesday Edition
How was your day yesterday? Do you have any plans for the New Year? Come share with me, please.
Yesterday was a very busy day, although thankfully drama free. We are a little short staffed with everyone getting in there unused vacation time before the end of the year. I don't think anyone has put in a full week since before Thanksgiving. Next week is really going to seem long to some of us with first full work week in a while.
I have a few books I would love to read and am hoping I will be able to find some time this weekend to enjoy some reading. In my pre-surgery life I would read at least 3 books a week, now I am lucky if I get in 3 books a year! I seem to naturally move a lot more now then I was able to then. I find it hard to even sit long enough to watch a movie through. I always need to get up and "do something" while watching the movie. It drives my DH nuts. Life has changed so much for the better.
Keep Safe and Warm............Wishing you a WONDERFUL Wednesday.
Hi Carrie,
Yesterday started out a little bumpy, but ended on a good note. As many know this has been an incredibly trying year for our family, as it has for many others. Due to a multitude of unfortunate cir****tances, Ben, Sarah and I were facing a very real possibility of becoming homeless. I have been praying and praying for God's guidance and grace. I believe that he has, as he always does, provide both. While everything is far from okay, he has sent his angels and I am no longer living in fear of losing the roof over our heads, so I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in a very long time.
This morning started so well. I had the first good night's sleep I've had in a long time and I was feeling better than I have in a long time. Then..... well, there are reasons my mother didn't name me Grace and my annual habit of throwing myself on the cement is one of many. I fractured right my wrist & fell hard on my upper back. While I hurt like heck, I should heal okay and I'm so grateful that I didn't hit my tailbone and crack it. I have to say that I was more upset when the Dr said my bones look thinner than they did when I fell last year. He wants me to get another bone scan; the last one I had was pre-op in 2006 and was fine. I need the bone scan so we can determine the level of osteoporosis so we can decide how to best treat it. Guess I'd better quit throwing myself on the cement and make sure I'm getting in all of my doses of Calcium Citrate and vitamin D.
We were planning on going to friend's home for a New Year's party, but I think we'll have to see how I'm doing. The Dr said that I'm likely to hurt more in the next couple of days. Thank goodness for pain meds ;-).
If we stay home for the holiday, we'll probably have a few protein rich, low carb appetizers.
I hope everyone else is doing well and stays safe.

Yep, 2010 has been a trying year for many. I'll be glad to kiss it goodbye too.
Take care my friend.
I'm hoping to be able to see you more often in the coming year. I've really missed you.
Hugs,
