Good Morning All! Christmas Eve/Friday Edition...

I hope that Carrie is getting some well deserved rest this morning and hope that all of you are ready for the upcoming holiday festivities.

We've been running a bit behind with Ben being knocked down by the flu. He's back in business, slow, but up and around and that is definitely a good thing. We got the kids gifts out, but I have yet to mail out my holiday cards... I hope people will enjoy them all the same when they arrive. I'm hoping to get them out today and hope they get them sometime before new years eve.

We are planning to enjoy Christmas Eve with friends this year. It's something we've never done before, but we were planning to enjoy Thanksgiving with them and all three families had a disastrous Thanksgiving; we had a death in the family, one family was stricken with the flu times two and the other had serious emergency surgery... so I'm hoping that this will come off without a hitch!

Today, I need to see about cleaning up the house and prepping for the holiday. I've made sure to get in my morning supplements and I'm working on trying to take care of them for the rest of the day. My weight is staying steady which is a good thing, but I need to be more careful about the 'quality' of what I'm putting in my mouth. Even if we didn't have the holidays coming right now, my life is STRESSFUL and I know I can get run down quickly if I don't take care of myself. Sometimes it seems 'too hard' to do or make time for, but I 'know' that I'll pay the price later if I don't do it now.

@Ann, I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's predicament and hope that it resolves without any lasting health complications for your husband.  I have you both in my thoughts and prayers. As you know, we share some similar issues and concerns, so while I don't know 'just' how you are feeling, I really have empathy for your plight. Please keep pushing you DH to take care of himself and be sure that you do the same for you.

Good Morning Barbara and OH family!

As I start this post I still have 4 minutes left til it becomes Good Afternoon!

I started my morning very early with some house cleaning and then off to Sam's when they opened at 7 am.  Figured I would beat the rush, WRONG.  We got in some grocery shopping at Walmart while we were in the area and back to the house to finish cleaning up around the house.

We are enjoying our lunch while catching up on-line and then I  will start some laundry and finish up my gift wrapping.

If it warms up some more we may get in a short motorcycle ride in this afternoon.  DH bought me some new insulated bib pants to keep warm so we will see.

This evening I will go to church for the Christmas Eve service and to friends for our Christmas.  Both have been our traditions for years now and I am excited to be with our friends, which are really family to us.  I will make a WLS friendly Triffle and a Pineapple casserole as my contributions to our traditional prime rib dinner.

Annie, please know that you and your family are in my prayers as well as all of my other OH families.

Well I had better get moving if I am to get everything done before church this evening.

Have a WONDERFUL Christmas EVE

Merry Christmas all! My DH is feeling better today and has taken charge of the Christmas cooking. My son and his girlfriend are staying here for Christmas because it is already snowing in Eastern NC where she lives and they did not want to risk getting stuck there since he has to work Monday morning. My two NC based daughters will be here later today. Miko is on duty so we are having dinner later when she is home from work. Presents were opened last night and everyone seemed happy with their gifts. We are going to just sit around and chat and maybe watch some movies on the tube. I am sure there will be a game of Scrabble as well. Other family has been checking in on facebook so we are all connecting even if not physically.
