Good Morning Everyone!

How was your day yesterday?  What do you have planned for today?  Come share with us.

Yesterday was another very busy day at work with clients calling in last minute changes for their upcoming insurance renewals.  I volunteered to take the bank run since I had a few errands to run in the same area and did not know if I would be able to take a real lunch break.  Glad I did that because I didn't get a chance to leave again until after closing.  After work I had to finish up my errands before coming home to make a quick dinner.  Traffic seems really bad this year with all the roads being widened.

Today is my last day at work this week and then I have a 3 day weekend.  I have a feeling I will not find much time to relax during this break but then I have a 3 day weekend next week too.  They are predicting snow here on Sunday, so I may even get some unscheduled time off for the snow  next week!

I had a co-worker bring me some cookies yesterday.  She made sugar-free chocolate chip because she noticed I would not even try the other treats.  Honestly I have not even had time to think about our work kitchen full of every sweet treat you can imagine.  But her making the cookies just for me made me feel so special.  She even made them crunchy since during a chat session I had made a comment that I like my cookies crunchy not chewy.  I have decided to bag them in mini portions and only allow myself one treat a day.  I do not want to make a habit of eating the treats again because I know I will tend to talk myself  into increasing  the frequency and volume until I am right back to where I was 4 years ago.  Oh what a slippery slope!

Come on now, tell me about your day........I need you to share, please.

Wishing you a WONDERFUL Thursday!

Good morning Carrie... and everyone else!

I'm actually getting on before noon today. I'm determined to get my gifts in the mail today. I've started the morning taking my supplements and cleaning the kitchen. I'm working on a Bolognaise sauce to make some stuffed shells for tomorrow; it's one of Sarah's favorite traditions, so I've modified the recipe to ramp up the lean protein and complex carbs making it a reasonably healthy indulgence for all.

I'm fighting my 'terrors' and working on focusing on the here and now. I'm also focusing on those things for which I am most grateful...

We have a roof over our head this month and will next month... That's huge right now!

We have 2 cars that run

Our children are all healthy

Ben and I have our physical health in tact right now

We have been blessed by wonderful friends that have supported us in so many ways during this difficult year

We were able to spend time with each of our parents before they passed this year

There is food in the fridge and pantry and I'm not eating it all!

My weight is staying stable even with the enormous stressors...

I could go on, but I guess what is important for me is to recognize that even in the midst of the storms of life, there are so many things for which I am grateful.

Today is not going as planned at all. But fortunately I am not in classes and can allow for the flexibility needed to get through it. My DH had a workplace injury at the end of November and has some health issues as a result of his injury. We are trying to address his issues but because the company he worked for did nothing to help him after he was hurt and allowed him to leave without getting checked out, we are having problems getting treatment for him. When he got home he was all scuffed up and had signs of a concussion but would not allow us to take him to the hospital. He finally went at the urging of the employment commission a week later and was diagnosed with the concussion. Anyway it is a mess. we have no insurance and even though this should be covered as a Workman's comp claim it is sketchy and he is not having any success in getting treatment. He is having some weird symptoms and they worry me even though he is trying to shrug them off. He is stuck with a lawyer so now we can't do anything without the lawyer. Again it is a mess. He just turned 61 so finding work is difficult anyway for him as it is but this is making it worse. He can not retire for at least another 4 years I think. At least by then I should have my degree and be able to begin seeking gainful employment.
