Good Morning Everyone! Tuesday Edition
How was your day yesterday? What are your plans for today? Come share with us.
Yesterday was soooo jam packed that I had to squeeze in my mini meals as I worked. I had 4 days of data to get in the computer before noon. I have learned not to get upset by the impossible deadlines and just do the very best I can. I did not meet the deadline but did get the necessary information completed before 1 pm. But Mondays are always very busy and this one sure lived up to that reputation.
I really love my job, and feel so very fortunate to have one at this time.
Since we will be working on limited staff for the remainder of the year, we celebrated with gift giving in one of my departments and of course there were lots of goodies. Fortunately, I was sooo busy that none of it even called my name. A few concerned co-workers did offer to get me something to drink since they noticed I could not get away. I have one very special co-worker that has made it her business to know my needs and reminds me when she notices that I am not eating or drinking enough. It is almost like having my mother working with me. She is very special to me.
Today should be a little less over whelming. I have a Christmas celebration with a friend and her daughter this evening. We have been having our annual celebration for more than 10 years together. This friend is also a co-worker, she is a single mother and her daughter is now 13 years old. We always start our celebration with dinner. This year Lisa is making our dinner. I can hardly wait. Lisa is such a Foodie and a wonderful cook. I am sure it will be a dinner to remember. We exchange gifts and it is so much fun to watch her daughter open up hers. They are so much like family to me which is important since I don't have any family here.
Wishing you all a WONDERFUL TUESDAY!

Almost a day late, but here goes anyway.
Sunday afternoon we were on our way to a friends house for a holiday gathering and the car started making a few unusual noises and it seemed to be running at a higher RPM than usual... well, it started behaving strangely and then we pulled over and had to have it towed. The mechanic came over to check it out and the verdict is not good. Apparently the transmission is a terminal condition. Geez! I wish that it would stop raining. I want the cloud, no thunderstorm, to move on and quit raining on me.
Ben's been sick with some nasty flu like mess and guys just don't suffer such things so gently, if you know what I mean.
As some of you know, we are on a very, very tight budget, so most of my holiday gifts are homemade this year. That means a lot of needle work and baking. My kitchen is overflowing with a bevy of goodies that I'm going to be packing off tomorrow. The good news is that I really haven't been delving into the goodies. Years ago, I'd have demolished a couple of dozen, but I'm not really going there. I've have a bit now and then, but wait to have them after I've had a meal and it really is making it manageable for me to enjoy some and not feel deprived, but not jump off the deep end either.
Tonight I had dinner with a couple of friends from the Grads Group that I run and it was really nice.
I'm trying to tie up some loose ends tonight and the off to bed. I'll see about finishing up the wrapping and packing tomorrow and the off to the post office to ship the goodies off and out of my kitchen!
