Good Morning Everyone!
It looks like everyone who was able to attend the Support Group Christmas meeting had some yummy treats. The recipes posted look so good.
Since I have been living in an unsteady world for the last few months, I thought I would put a little stability back in my life by making a daily post again.
Please join me each day and share your thoughts, comments and day with us.
I don't know about the rest of you, but this is the best time of year for me to be more accountable. I find myself trying more "treats" then I normally would simply because they are more readily available. At almost 4 years out, my pouch is still very much the ruler for me. I still have a bad relationship with flour and sugar, so I have to take any recipes and tweek them for me. I tried to eat the sugar-free cake mix I found in the grocery store when I made a layered triffle with the prepared cake and although my mouth say "YES", my pouch literally rejected it!
Today is another work day for me. It will be a struggle to stay warm, so I will make sure I have lots of hot drinks. I love my coffee and tea this time of year.
Wishing you all a WONDERFUL Monday!
(((Carrie))),
It's sooo good to see you again and I must admit that I look forward to and have missed the morning check-ins. I hope that they will garner a bit more activity on the board.
Like you, I find that I indulge a bit more during the holidays, but I've found a few ways to keep it 'under control' for me. I don't know if my little 'tricks' will help, but I thought I'd share. I tend to do better regarding the extra treats if I make a deal with myself that I can have them, but only after I've had some protein first. This allows me to have my 'proverbial' cake and be able to eat too without significant repercussions. I also have found that while I don't generally log anymore unless I'm having an issue with my weight, that doing so during the holidays really helps me be very aware of what I'm putting in my mouth, the 'value' of it and to be honest, it's relative expense. This also helps me as I work to make sure I'm getting in the nutrients I need. When I'm working to be sure I have enough protein, I often will have to delay the simple carbs that abound during the holidays. This in turn stems the tide and I don't indulge quite as much.
I don't know about you, but I've just about had enough of 2010 and am ready to say good ridance to one very difficult year. I'm hoping that 2011 will be a quieter, gentler year for all.
Welcome back my friend!
