Good luck with everything.
Hi Mym,
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I did not have Dr. Pryor, but have heard wonderful things about her from a number of the members of my support group. Just to be affiliated with the group at Duke Metabolic and Bariatric tells you something about her qualifications and she has been with them for years, as a matter of a fact, she recently was appointed as the Co-Director for the program at Duke.
Regarding your upcoming phsyc appointment, just know that they are there to help make sure that you have all of the tools at your disposal that you will need to make the lifestyle changes you will need to make to ensure that you are able to maximize your weight loss opportunity and keep it off in the long term.
I would have minimal protein supplements available for your return from the hospital because as a previous poster mentioned, many people experience a change in their sense of taste immediately post op. Some mention noticing a metalic aftertaste, some are not able to tolerate sweet tastes as much. For many, the sense of taste seems to balance out after a while.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara
