  • Do you like pets? Have you any? I guess I have to like them, I have 2 cats and a minature schnauzer
  • Which was the last book you read? I love any books by Patricia Cornwell
  • Are you fond of cooking? Yes if I have the time but after a long day of work, would rather someone else do it for me.
  • If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why? Patience - I have very little and find myself getting uptight to quickly about things that should not bother me.  I really do not like being tense and uptight.
  • What do you prefer - spontaneity or stability? Depends upon the situation, like stability but with a little spontaneity to liven things up.
  • Do you love kids? Absolutely, I have 2 daughters, 17 and 4.  I also have nieces and a nephew, kids make my life complete.
  • What are your hobbies? reading, golfing, working out at the gym, going to the beach
  • What two things could you not do when you were.....? I could not motivate myself to go out in public much, I would go to work and avoid social occasions as I was always uncomfortable in my own skin.  I also had a very hard time playing with my kids as my legs really bothered me carrying around my extra weight.  That is probably the best thing that has happened that now I can keep up with the kids and have the extra energy to do things with them.  I gave up riding horses as I was too heavy and could not step into a gym.

Ok, I will play too! lol
* Do you like pets? but of course! Have you any? We have 3 cats (Lola, Brando and Teddy) and a leopard gecko named Godzilla
* Which was the last book you read? Hope in a Jar by Beth Harbis
* Are you fond of cooking? Yes, I am a bit of a foodie
* If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why? To learn to stop procrastinating. However after 40 some years, it may be too late to change! lol
* What do you prefer - spontaneity or stability? Both! I value stability in my life but without a bit of spontaneity to shake things up, it would be a bit boring!
* Do you love kids? Yes, I have 3 kids between the ages of 18 and 23.
* What are your hobbies? Reading, cooking, painting
* What two things could you not do when you were.....? Well, I am still early out but I do find that I have increased energy and am able to walk long distances without losing my breath! And I am happy to report that I am WELL under the weight limit for a zip line! (we are going on a cruise next year and plan to do the zip line through the rain forest in Costa Rica!)

  • Do you like pets? Have you any?  I have a cat and a doggy.......my cat is kinda mean and my dog is very sweet!
  • Which was the last book you read?   Currently reading a book called Promises by Jeane Renick (I have so many books that I am TRYING to start reading the ones I have so I can purge some along with the clothes that I will hopefully no longer need).
  • Are you fond of cooking?  I do enjoy cooking and one of the things I have learned by lurking on here is that I WILL be able to continue to cook post surgery.....it may be awhile but I am happy to know that I can continue to cook smaller, albeit differently made meals.
  • If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why? I wish I was more adventuresome.  This leads into the next question.
  • What do you prefer - spontaneity or stability?   I am defintely a stability/rountine kind of girl.  BUT, one of the things I have learned in this pre-op process is that I need to open myself up to accepting help and support from others as well as being able to do more and experience more.  I pray that this occurs post surgery.  Some things I have attempted (other than the scariest move which was deciding to do RNY and go to that very first seminar) is: joining a BIG gym and going often AND attending a seminar on trying to make weight loss surgery successful by dealing with the emotions AS WELL as the physical side of things.
  • Do you love kids? I do love kids but do not have any.
  • What are your hobbies? Reading (to give that up would be horrible), walking the doggie, traveling, gardening (love growing my zinnias every summer and have NEVER met a hanging basket of flowers that I didn't like).
  • What two things could you not do when you were.....? younger.  Having enough money to own my own home and having the confidence to achieve more at work.  I look forward to answering this question when I am NOT obese.  :)

  • Thanks for asking these questions!

I'm a pretty recent transplant to NC and haven't made it to any of the WL support groups yet.

  • Do you like pets? Have you any?  I have a rescue Maltese with a very strong personality, she loves me but not so much everyone else. Her name is Tillie - short for Atilla.  I did not name her!  My husband and kids have a cat who pretty much ignores me.
  • Which was the last book you read?  Angel's Peak by Robyn Carr
  • Are you fond of cooking?  I CAN enjoy cooking, but I'd rather do other things.
  • If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why?  I would have a few degrees behind my name.  I have extensive non-traditional education, but it doesn't get me much respect.
  • What do you prefer - spontaneity or stability?  My priority right now would be stability in general, but I'm always up for some fun.
  • Do you love kids?  I really enjoy kids but am so happy mine are grown - now if they would just move out of my house!  I'm not the sort of person to do day care for anything.
  • What are your hobbies?  I spend way too much time on the Internet.  I read prolifically, I knit, and I love camping.
  • What two things could you not do when you were.....?  I am pre-surgery.  Waiting with my breath held to see if BCBS of NC will start approving the vertical sleeve gastrectomy.  My alternative is for my house in Wisconsin to sell, which would give me the cash to have it done in Mexico.  I've been waiting for this for about 3 years.
