and make some room on The Loser's Bench for me! :)

I had my surgery on the 6th and came home from the hospital today. Doing ok....I'm tired and a little bit sore. But not too bad. And I'm FREEZING! I have my robe on over my clothes and a blanket around me and I'm still cold. Mostly my feet. :o) I know this is normal, so I'm just going to snuggle in blankets until my body adjusts.

Movin' slow, but I'm SO happy to move on to the next step!!!!

Juli

I took 2 and 3 showers/day the first week to 10 days.  I would get the water as hot as I could and get in.  I was so cold.

So glad you are home.  Dr.  Cook always keeps his patients 2 days to make sure they are doing okay.  Did Becky or Jock come up and go over the food guidelines??

ohh yeah, I slept in a recliner for about a week.  Too sore to be in bed!!

Hi tamara....yes Becky came up to see me twice! And dr cook was in 3 times to see me before he discharged me. I am SO impressed with them all -- they took very very very good care of me!! The nurses were all great! I have no complaints at all!

Hot showers sound great! I've been walking around the house wearing my fuzzy robe over my clothes, and then wrapping up in a blanket as well. I just can't get warm. My husband opened up all the house vents and room doors and turned the furnace up last night, which helped too. And he moved my recliner to be right in front of a big vent :) I slept great last night!!

I have a nice big padded leather recliner my husband bought me when I had a laproscopic hysterectomy 3 years ago.....I slept in it then for about 3 weeks. So, it's on bed duty once again for a few weeks. :) It's actually quite comfy.

Thanks for the welcome!

Sip, sip, sip....  :o)

Congratulations!!!!!!! I also had surgery last year around the holidays. It makes you reflect on how much food plays a part in everyday celebrations. Because over Christmas/New Years it seems like everyday is a celebration LOL!.
Be patient with yourself, rest when you need, cry when you want to and know you have made the first step to the rest of your healthier life.
I will be a full year out this Tuesday and this Christmas will be so different then any in the past. I have my family serving at the rescue mission and trying not to make eating the focus.

I wish you all the best. Hollar if you need an ear.
Audra
