Insurance company 2, Fat Man 0
August, September, October, November, December and January should finish up the required 6 month program (which is really more of a waiting period if you ask me---but who's asking) and I should be good to go late January or Early Feb. 2011.
Hi Gale,
I'm sorry that your insurance company wouldn't accept the information your Dr provided. It's actually very common for them to not accept such information and they will even have some information that says that they will not accept a Dr's 'narrative' in place of the monthly medically supervised weight loss attempts. You may want to find out from your insurance company what exactly they need to see in the notes to ensure that it is properly documented. Often they want your vitals, including BP, weight, and height, your proposed 'dietary' plan, exercise plan and behavior management plan. They generally want know how the plan went during the past month and what the plan is for the following month. Some want 'documentation' such as exercise logs from a health club or attendance at counseling sessions, Weigh****chers meetings, etc. others do not need that.
Wishing you all the best and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
