Did ya miss me?!?!

Well so i am on my LAST month of my supervised diet...thats required for medicaid insurance. so i was woundering when do i start the next step in the medicaid process? or do i do that after i talk to my surgeon? Just making sure im doing this right and what not. So please any advise will help thanks!

Hi Amanda,

Each program handles things a bit differently and I can't recall which program you are with, but if you haven't started to have any of the testing done, I'd ask them to start it now. If you have had all of it done, then it's likely that they'll be putting your package together to get it ready to submit for insurance review and approval. 

I hope that helps some. Give your program a call tomorrow and ask them how they proceed from here.

program? what do u mean when u say program?... my insurance is medicaid. and i know theey required the test and stuff and pych evel. just didnt know if i need to see my surgeon first befor scheduling these. I know when i first contacted my surgeons office. she ask what was my insurance and i told her medicaid. she said ok first thing is you need to do a  six month diet with ur pcp and once ur on ur last month contact us so we can set u up with there siminar. so august in my last month and i plan on calling tommrow and letting them know. so thats all i know for now!.

By program, I mean which surgical group/dr you are using. While the insurance dictates many things, each program/dr have different ways of approaching how they implement the process. You've honestly probably jumped the biggest hurdle and the rest will be gathering whatever documentation, including labs, tests, and exams necessary to support your quest for surgery.

Good luck -----it sounds like things are moving right along. To me the 6 month program was the longest most drawn out 6 months of my life.

it has flown byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye if u ask me. i just wished i would of lost some weight but hey aint that what brought us here in the first place??
