The High Cost of Healthcare

I just got the EOB from BCBS outlining the claim that Durham Regional submitted for my surgery.

This was a BPD/DS; six hours in surgery, two hours in PACU and one extra day inpatient.

Total claim: $48,722.65

Thankfully, this number is listed in the "AMOUNT YOU DO NOT OWE" column for me.

But it will give you an idea of what these things cost.

Same here. I had the same coverage through my husband's job and even though we don't have that coverage anymore I am so grateful we had it when I needed it to get my surgery and to get my health back
