This heat is making me crazy (well crazier maybe)  I met my June 60 mile Challenge goal in spite of it. The last few days I've done all of my walking in the water so I have no idea how far I actually walked this month.

It's the end of the month and the fiscal year at work so this place is a zoo. Add in wireless issues at home and that's the reason I haven't been on very much this past week. David & I are leaving to go out of town Thursday morning so I won't be on until Tuesday at the earliest. His Mom's health is declining rapidly so we're heading out to Albemarle to spend a long weekend with his family.

To those of you who are getting ready for surgery in the coming days (and those who have just had it) you may be wondering if you'll ever get to enjoy those family BBQs and potlucks that everybody seems to be having this time of year - the answer is simple - YES!! Just remember that protein first rule. For me at nearly 2 years out grilled meats can still be "iffy" but the key for me seems to be to chew, chew,  chew, chew & chew some more. My family has gotten involved in the whole weight loss process so there's always a sugar free dessert option (but who has room for it), high protein foods & lots of fresh veggies. Oh my - LIFE is GOOD!!!!

I wish all of you a safe, healthy and wonderful 4th of July.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
