Why me?

Hi everyone. Well unfortunately I dont have any good news to say this time. I had to go to my PCP yesterday cause for the past month or so I have been in pain. All over pain. My arms,, legs, back, neck, head, everything. So I got told yesterday that I have fibromyalgia. A friend of mine has that and she is in pain all the time. I sure hope things dont get any worse. So anyways, the dr gave me a prescription for Lyrica. I called Dr. Mann's office and I cant take the meds without Nexium. Now I have to wait for that prescription PLUS I have to wait for prior approval from my insurance company to fill the Lyrica. I am in soooo much pain and I really dont know what I can do.

Does anyone on here have fibromyalgia? If you do, what do u do to help with the pain? If anyone can help me out with info, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all and sorry it wasnt good news and me being my perky self. I just feel so bad right now :(

I can't help you with the any advise, just wanted to let you know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you get through this.

There is hope. There are others that suffer from fibromyalgia and I've heard some great things about Lyrica. Be sure to monitor your weight as you start it because weight gain can be a side effect. Another medication often used for fibromyalgia is 'Cymbalta' which is an antidepressant, but seems to work wonders for those with fibromyalgia. Hang in there. 

Also consider cross posting this to the main and rny forums where you will be casting a wider net have more people who have the same issue and can share their experiences.
