Good Morning Everyone!

I am so very HOT!   The ac in my office can not keep up with this heat and yesterday it averaged 80 degrees and that was with 2 fans going in my small office to boost the ac.  I hate being on the 2nd floor at this time of the year.

When I left the office yesterday I was exhausted.  I think it was just the heat getting to me.  I hate feeling so drained when I have things I want to do after work.

Today I will really push those fluids and probably keep my meals fluid also with protein shakes and frapps.  Well that is my plan, we'll see how it works out.

Have a GREAT day!

Hi Carrie,

Boy to I hear you when you talk about the heat, it even makes it hard for me to sleep. But I have to say that as much as I hate it now, I find that I'm so much more able to manage it than I was before. That said, I had a burr under my saddle this weekend and wanted to mow the lawn even though it was in the low 90's. I came in huffing and puffing, sweating up a storm and Ben said I was BEET RED. My heart was pounding and my chest was hurting, so I think I overdid it. I don't know if I'll be doing that again anytime soon.

Ben and I are still working hard to get the stuff done, but the heat is hampering our efforts. It seems like we have been moving for a month and we still aren't near being done. Some of that is because almost all of the 'stuff' has to be sorted through and to be honest, some of it is because I have such a hard time focusing and concentrating, so it takes me a long time to do simple tasks. I have just one week to get stuff done before I get on a plane to head to CA to begin the festivities associated with my son's upcoming wedding. Ben will still be here, but I am hoping to have most of it done before I leave so that he won't be left with an overwhelming task on his own. I have had so much trepidation about the upcoming trip because of the family dynamics with my siblings, but I'm working on changing my focus.

I'm still struggling with keeping my weight up. I would have never thought that this would be an issue for me. I am fluctuating between 134 and 136. I tried on the dress I bought for the wedding and had tailored. That was about 10 lbs ago and now it's too big. I don't know if I'll have the time to have it tailored. We'll see.

Well, there's plenty more unloading, unpacking, packing, loading, unloading and unpacking left to do, so I'd better run.

Barbara,  Please be careful in the heat.  Because we don't feel it as much, I found myself in trouble the last time I mowed in the heat and did not realize it until it was almost to late.  This is within just a 2 hour period with 4-20 oz bottles of water.

I actually past out, after I got myself seated and then I slept for more than 3 hours before waking up with a termendous headache.

Take care my friend.

Last summer I nearly froze to death - this summer seems to be a little easier on me. I still keep a sweater with me every where I go. Yesterday I posted that I was really looking forward to my leftover seafood for the week -----Not anymore. My boys came over last night and I swear they were like a swarm of locusts. I think there's some coffee creamer, lactose free milk, an onion and some mustard left in the fridge. Guess I'd better plan on stopping at the grocery store on the way home or else I'm having a protein shake for dinner.

Hope everyone has a great day today. I'm off to get some work done. Catch yall later.

Iris,  I  bet it did your heart good to see your boys last night.  I know it made me smile just reading about it.

Have a GREAT day!

After a few years of always freezing it seems things have reconnected.  I do feel the humidity now and run the AC at work.  Though if dining out I do get cold sitting still.  Odd.  I have managed to take off 5 of the 14 pounds I had put on and wish I could get the other 9 off though everyone says I don't need too.  Just would make last years clothes fit again.  I don't like snugg clothes with rolls even if small over lapping the top even if thats how it was years ago.  I guess it is a reminder of being big.  It is so very hard to loose when you get down in size and regain even alittle.  Going to try to drink more water and see if thats the trick...espically since I really don't do just plain water anymore.

I am sitting here at the 'puter procrastinating doing a homework assignment and listening to the afternoon T-storm that has happened for the last several days. I actually enjoy the sound of Thunder and don't mind the light show either. I survived three major tests yesterday and today, one in each of my three classes. Now all I have to do is wait for the grades. I think I stress more waiting for that grade than I do taking the test. So far I have passed everything but that doesn't console me til the teacher confirms the grade for these tests.
I still have a love hate relationship with heat. I get hot flashes these days but they are brief and in between I am usually too cold. I like the air conditioner set at about 78 but the rest of the family likes it lower. MUCH lower. I keep a blanket on the couch and often run around the house in a sweatshirt. Sometimes I will go outside to warm up. Seems silly to me but there it is.
Barb I agree you and Ben really need to mind your fluids. It is very easy to get dehydrated and you don't really feel thirsty until you already are. The opposite of you I have stayed stuck at about 30 pounds higher than I want to be. SO I am stepping up my protein and watching my other food intake. I am attempting to always have a bottle of water or a crystal lite Arnold Palmer always nearby and drink when I think I am hungry. Who knows maybe after another semester that includes a real live gym class I will finally get those last few pounds off for good. We will see.
