Four Years

Hard to believe its been almost 4 years since I had my surgery. The person I use to be seems light years away from who I am now but the time passed in the blink of an eye.

I am doing very well, no problems to report. I still take my vitamins + supps like a good girl and do a yearly physical with my PCP (surgeon said no reason to see him anymore unless I have an issue). I still follow the no eating/drinking rule and stick to eating every few hours. I started working out with a trainer 2 months ago and am back to food logging (for now). Over the past year I gained 5lbs and they have not wanted to go away... I am thankful its only been 5lbs as I hear many people who struggle with re-gain and I did also trun 30 last year and have noticed things are starting to change with my body (hello wrinkles!!!). I have been working out hard with the trainer and while the scale hasnt moved my inches and body fat percentage has. I will say I always think of myself as a WLS patient.. I have friends who are further out who act like a 'normal' person.. dont do the vits/supps, don****ch protein etc... I always keep it in the back of my mind and know that I can never fully 'relax'... definately do not want to go back to where I came from. I still keep hope alive that I will one day get plastic surgery... at this point I have accepted everything except this damn belly!! I have to say that I am very proud of myself for not only making the decision to have WLS but have made a success story out of it. It has been a lot of work and always will be work but it is worth it a thousand times over.
Hope the rest of you are doing well. I am planning on making it to the Presby support group on the 21st so say hello if you are there!

That is so great to hear. I am so glad you are doing so well. I am only 6 months out but I know I will always suffer from obesity no matter what size I am. I just hope and pray I can continue to do as well as you have. Thank yo so much for sharing your story

It was great to read your update.

These words ring tru regardless of what stage of the journey we find ourselves.
