June Challenge - day 2

Fell behind just a little yesterday due to the weather. I may have to rethink my evening walks in the future because of afternoon thunderstorms here along the coast. Pretty typical during the summer.  Plus we had a cookout to go to for a 30th birthday party in the neighborhood right after work. It was nice to reconnect with friends but I kep****ching the sky wanting to leave and get my walk in.

I still got 1.3 miles in before the storm**** While that still lacks about 3/4 of a mile David pointed out that I still laced up my shoes and tried. That little attempt is part of habit forming behavior and that's what's at the heart of this months challenge for me - making daily exercise a lifelong habit. You know what? I just may do this. hmmmmm......I've never, ever, ever let myself think I could. Shall we talk about setting myself up for failure? If I'm having this type of AHA moments on day 2 I can't imagine what the month full month will bring.

As far as strength training - well I never quite got to that last night. I simply ran out of time. I'll try again tonight.

I did o.k. yesterday. I am trying not to beat myself up too badly. I did 1 mile but its 1 more than I would have done before. Trying to look at the glass half full!! LOL Today is another day and plan to get of the computer soon and clean the day away to prepare for visitors in the coming weeks! Lots of evening storms here as well. It will be nice once this passes so I can enjoy the evening fresh air walks.

Can I just say.......that I'm proud of the both of you!  A little bit of something is better than a whole lotta nothin'!!!  Great job, and keep up the good work.

I've been riding my bike - got up to about 5 miles!  Unbelievable to think that this is ME!  I'm not riding it every day - but have been doing pretty well.

Keep on keepin' on, girls!  You're doing so great!

Thank you maam for the cheerleading!!

Did you ever find a bathing suit? I know you had posted about it a few weeks ago and I forgot to ask you the last time I saw you.

Great job on the bike by the way.

Yes, I did, but I paid BIG bucks for the privilege.......my problem was finding a top that fit, so long story short ~ I ended up getting an underwire tankini top from Coco Reef ($$$), and some board shorts ($$).  (I look fabulous, though!  hahaha)

I was going to post a couple of "Before and After" pix on my profile for this skit I've done at school for the kids about sunscreen so you all could see the differences, but the first one won't load.  I'm going to try again, though, and if it works, the "After" picture is of me in my new "bathing costume" - my husband likes it, which is good.

Anyway ~  I'm really proud of the two of you for working toward this goal you've set!  It beats the heck out of what we used to do, which was NOTHING!!!!

You did more than I did.  I had to take a rest day due to the utterly crappy state of my lungs.  And my GoWear Fit shows it.

I did NOTHING on June 2.  Here's my blog entry for that day.
