Just can't wait!!

Hello all!!! I have been a major lurker since I started my journey back in December. I jumped thru all the hoops and am now just counting down the days to begin my new life!!! My surgery date is Friday June 18th!!! I go for my 2 week pre-op Fri June 4th and am just praying that I have maintained or lost weight! I would just die if I gained and had to postpone. But trying to stay positive and just wanted to finally post something and I plan on being active and holding myself very accountable through out this amazing new start!

Hey Girls - I'm so excited for both of yall. The 18th will be here in a jiffy. Keep posting often and let us get to know you. We're here for anything and everything that you might need. If you ever have anything you want to ask or comment about and don't feel like using the open forums - just pm me. I'm normally on (ALOT) during weekdays - not as much on weekends since the summer time is here.

Can't wait to watch your progress on this incredible journey. Enjoy every minute of it. It is so worth it.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I am sure that it is likely to be one of the most positive, life-changing decisions you may ever make. Studies have shown that those who are active in support groups and work to make life style changes, such as learning ways to make yourself accountable are most successful at losing their excess weight and maintaining their new weight.

I, too, have been a lurker for a while, and then was "absent" for a while as well...
I had my RNY on Tuesday and am recovering at home, so now I am more active on here.

I agree that the time between scheduling and the actual surgery date fly by! 

June 4th is just a few days away! ...    I hope that pre-op appointment goes well. I have a question though.. when you say that you hope you maintained or lost weight so that you wouldnt have to be postponed...  ??  Is this something that is standard... I havent heard that before. Why do they post pone you??

Im not sure if every surgeon does it?? Or if it's just to scare you to loose and not eat everything in sight before the op?  LOL

They just said I need to maintain and/or loose and if when I go in for the 2 week pre-op and I weigh more than when I saw him last (which was in Feb ) then he will post-pone surgery!  Yikes.......
