I am really a student!

I was not able to get the exact classes I wanted but i am enrolled in three classes and have completed the first two days of school and I love it. I can't wait for fall when I will get more classes that I need for my degree but meanwhile the classes I am taking now are great and even dare i say it? FUN! Except for the algebra but there are worse things in life to deal with and I am happy to take algebra on over those other things LOL! My only regret is that I didn't start this sooner. If I had I would be that much closer to the finish line. Still the 'race' is going to be fun. My new body doesn't care about where the car is parked (unless its raining). I handle getting from the parking lot to each class in three different buildings and am not tired at the end of the day. When did that happen? This is truly a blessing from this surgery and certainly a major NSV. I was not able to sign up for a summer gym class but I will surely get one in the fall. And I will make sure I can get one every semester I am there from now on. I can't believe I want gym class. Are you sure they only operated on my stomach? Seems like my brain is changing too.

Annie,

I am so happy for you and that your dreams are becoming reality.  I, too, enjoyed being a student.  Savor every moment as it is happening.

Just curious, what is it you want to be when you "grow up"?  What degree are you working toward?

Congratulations and keep having fun!

P.S. I loved all my math classes.

I saw the excitement on your face Saturday! Yeah for you and relish in those victories!

Haha on the gym part. That was the ONE class that I wish would be full but they ALWAYS had room!

I am thinking back...I toted 400+ pounds of me alone around campus, undergrad and grad
school. That's not including my books and purse!

I did not live on campus in undergrad. I decided to live at home, go to school full time and work part time.  For grad school, I worked full time and went to school part time.

So I am at least 200 pounds lighter now and some mornings after I walk a block from the parking deck, up a hill, and 2 flights of stairs (carrying the worlds heaviest backpak and laptop), I wonder how did I EVER get around?

If I am gonna eat   like a fat girl, then I gotta workout   like a skinny girl!

I am so happy for you. The NSVs that come our way are so wonderful.

I'm like you in wondering what body parts they really worked on. There seems to be a direct communication line between my thoughts and my mouth.....hmmmmmm....that was never there prior to surgery. I guess parts of my digestive system weren't the only things bypassed.

Have fun!!!!
Iris

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Ann,

Congratulations!!! While I 'know' that they only operated on our guts, I think that this journey changes our whole outlook on life and with that we realize that anything is possible.

Congratulations on exploring the possibilities!
