On my way to run errands.
I am feeling really good this morning.
While making coffee I noticed how good it feels to feel maybe taller or maybe just fit.
I can quite describe it but I have my army pants on and T shirt tucked in and feel ready to take life on this morning.
Still have cleaning to do today we have an appraiser coming to the house on Thursday morning.
No we are not moving just a thing the trust has done every so many years.
So bring it on I am just happy to be alive and moving.

Glad you started the thread Annie... I was going to earlier and got distracted.

Like you, I'm getting ready to head out and run some errands. I've been busy doing dishes, running the vacuum, doing laundry, etc... Last night I did a heavy cleaning on the family room. Moving furniture, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming. Still more to do, but working on it.

I've got to think of what sort of light dinner I can rustle up. My daughter is working on trimming down and she's doing a great job of it, so I'm doing what I can to make sure that meals are lean, but tasty. Last night, I made a 'taco salad' with fresh baby greens because they have so many more nutrients, black beans, green onions, cilantro, corn, pico de gallo, guacamole, shredded cheese and shredded rotisserie chicken. We have a few lime tortilla chips crumbled over the top for a bit of crunch and a bit of lite sour cream. It was good enough that she had me pack it for lunch. I put all the greens and cheese in one bowl and the chicken and 'wet stuff' in another and then she just puts them together for lunch. It's tasty and healthy.

There are a lot of reasons I do quite a few salads. It's such a great way to get in the fiber and complex carbs we need... If you are a newbie, wait until your program gives you the green light for the greens... But one of the other things is that visually, you get 'more to eat'. While this isn't a big deal for me, it really is one for my husband. It still just 'irks' him that his portions are so 'small.' When I serve a salad, he tends to 'feel' like he's getting more to eat. I know that when I go out to eat with people that don't know that I've had surgery they don't tend to notice that I'm not eating as much when I have a salad, even though it normally has chicken or grilled shrimp added for protien, as when I just have the same protein with a normal side.

I think tonight I'll do crab cakes over a baby green salad with freshly sliced tomatoes and thin slivers of red onion. We'll have to come up with something else for lunch though.

Well, I'd better run so that I can get those errands done and come back and do some more cleaning and packing.

I hope to hear what the rest of you are doing today.

Take care,

Barbara

Your food choices look very yummy, bit i did not see a time we should be there for dinner. Ha Ha lol. I just wanted to say that since Easter salds are my favorite just because I CAN eat them.
Have a great week,
Audra

Barb,
Your Taco salad sounds out of this world.
I am so enjoying learning cooking light and healthier.
I even planted a herb garden have most all the herbs I use but will be going in serch of Italian Basil tomorrow.
I have regular basil but I also like the Italian basil.
I also relly enjoy watching Ellie Kreger on Cooking Healthy in fact she was doing a recipe for fresh strawberries ricotta, basil and a balsimic reduction.
May have to try that.
Hang in there Barb I know life has been tough for the past few years.
I hope God will smile on you and yours.

Good afternoon folks!!  Annie - you may well be getting taller. I was measured last week for my annual physical and lo and behold I'd jumped up over an inch. I'm chalking it up to what effects gravity was having on my overweight frame.

On an unrelated topic - does anyone know much about having the pest treatment that involves covering your house with the bubble and gassing it? My Mom's house is apparently going to need it and I'm concerned that everything in the attic and garage may need to come out or face being ruined. OMG!!! This is not a prospect that makes me the least bit happy. Even though she has renters in the house they don't have use of the garage or attice because our entire family has stored their junk there for ....well decades. UGGHHHH....

I've got a new favorite beverage - Decaf tea sweetened with splenda and a crystal light lemonade stick. YUMMY....since I started drinking this last week I've had no problems getting in all of my water every day.

Hope everyone has a chance to get outside and enjoy what looks to be a beautiful spring day.

Hi Iris,
I did grow some and I am loving it totally.
Today at the bank a bank officer said oh I like your pants LOL There was a time I could have never worn army pants LOL

When Lee moved in with me from Oklahoma 10 years ago he brought with him german roaches we had to have the house fumagated cover up all cookware and dishes with sheets.

Ever since them we have never had them again and Terminex comes every two months just to follow up with regular spraying outside.

Hey Iris I do the samething about my fluid intake except I use just a sprinkle of unsweetened Koolaide lemonade flavor in my diet decaf iced tea and I add two packs of Truvia it makes for a great drink and 64 is a breeze.
