Support group in Asheville?

I am in need of a support group in the Asheville area as I moved down here a year ago and need to get back on track.  I know that Mission Hospital has a program, but they told me it is highly unlikely that they would accept me into their program for follow up since I did not have my surgery there.  If anyone has any information about support groups that are open to the public I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much!
Nicole

Anyone can go to the support group  in Asheville. You do not have to have had surgery there. I had my surgery at Hickory and know many people that go to the one in asheville.

You can call 213-2222 option 2 to register for the group.  ANGELS over Asheville is the name of the Weight loss surgery support group

The group is at the Weight management center class room at 2 Medical Park Drive, Asheville, NC.

Take I 40 to exit 51 south. Turn left on Sweeten Creek road, drive 1/4 mile to light at Medical Park Drive. Its the first building on the left.

1st or 3rd Wednesday evening at 6:00-7:30 pm
2nd or 4th Friday morning from 10-11:30 am

Nicole, our support group in Asheville is open to anyone who has had bariatric surgery, is preparing for it, thinking about it, or supporting someone who has had, wants to have or is thinking about it.  We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening of each month from 6-7:30pm and/or the 4th Friday morning of each month from 10-11:30am.  I know this is a very late response to your posting but hopefully will help you.

Tamara,

Thank you for the information on the group and that it is open to all regardless of where you had surgery.  I am hoping that if I can get to some support groups that perhaps that will help me to get back on track to lose this weight that I have regained.

Thanks again!
