Went for my consult today...

Hello everyone!

I have not posted in a while.

I went to my Initial Consultation this afternoon with Dr. Bruce. He is with Bariatric Specialist of North Carolina. He is very nice.. has anyone had him as their surgeon?  So the next step is to get all the testing done and set up an appointment with a nutrionist. I already have a psycharist, so hopefully she will be able to write the letter. After I do all that and go for my results visit, I schedule surgery that day and normally the wait is only 2 weeks. Its all going so fast, I don't even know if I ready yet....

Well I just wanted to let you all know whats going on.

I believe that Dr. Bruce is relatively new to triangle and to Dr Enochs practice and I do not know of any other patients that have had him. 

 

Congratulations on the start of your journey. I have heard good things recently about Enochs but I do not know his new partner. My GI specialist is the one there practice uses, so at my appointment on Monday I will ask him what he knows about your surgeon.
The GI specialist is Dr Al-Sabbagh, if you have to see him for any reason, know he is the most skilled guy I have ever watched and went to.

Sure, no problem. There is a Raleigh support group meeting sat at 10:30 at the perkins on Capital BLVD. Maybe we can meet eachother there. This will be my first time going. I am more than happy to chat anytime.

I can't make it Saturday, I have to work. What kind of surgery did you have? How did you get the ticker in your signature?

For the ticker you go under your OH and then profile, its under health tracker I believe. Keep in mind I am the number one computer iliterate. It took me weeks to get mine up, so good luck.

As for my procedure I had a Lap RNY gastric bypass on 12/14/09 at Durham Regional through the Duke weight loss program. I am very disappointed with there post op care. My GI specialist has said more than once that Enochs does a much better job then the Duke docs. He has had to do some dilations on Duke patients besides myself.

Would love to meet up sometime. I am actually almost to Wake Forest so we live pretty close.
