Rice No Way No How Ever Again
I as always fixed my salad plate and put a small amount of rice on it.
Yeap sure did taste wonderful but will not do rice again.
It just plain hurt to much.
I think sometimes we fool ourselfves into thinking we can eat like we used too.
Not this girl.
Annie
Annie,
I'd check with your Dr about strictures. I absolutely understand your not wanting to try something that causes you discomfort, but I have to tell you that I can and do eat rice a couple of times a week without any negative impacts. It's a normal part of my 'normal' diet. I actually can eat like I used to in some regards, meaning that I can eat anything I want to eat, but now I just work to make sure that I lead with lean protein and complex carbs and have less of things like simple carbs such as rice, pasta, breads, etc...
Again, so sorry to hear that it was painful and I would check with your Dr. to see if you have a stricture that is making it so uncomfortable.

The rice I cooked would not be my first choice.
I cooked FL instant rice which I normally cook for Guien and Arthur if they have an upset tummy.
I had worked the weekend and was making do with what I had.
I do really well with brown rice and whole grains in fact I prefere that over most carbs and complex carbs do great on the pouch.
From both endoscopyies they found no strictures but I do have Barrets syndrome caused by GERD.
Also at the barriatric cooking class two years ago the chef who also had wls said she just used Jasmine rice or basmati.
Annie
Annie,
I have to admit that I rarely, if ever, use instant rice and most often use Basmati, Jasmine or wild rice when I cook with rice.
I hope that if you have rice in the future, it will down more easily.
