arthritis after gastric bypass

Please help!!! What are some arthritis medications that are safe for us to take? My family doctor named 2 but they are both loaded with Ibuprophen and I know that is bad for us. I can't get in to see the Rheumatologist until June.

I'm 3 years postop and recently got the okay from my surgeon to take ibuprofen if absolutely necessary but crushed in applesauce to make sure that it has something to completely carry it through my pouch.

I also have a topical gel that is okay to use on my hand, Voltaren. It helps a little.
