Had my first appointment!

I had my first appointment this past Tuesday at Duke. It went great! I love that they schedule their appointments all in the same day. I saw the psychologist first, Dr. Friedman. She was excellent! She gave me some things to think about and said I was a good canidate for lap band or RNY. Next I saw my surgeon, Dr. Pryor. She is very professional, to the point, and answered all of my questions.

I had originally gone in thinking lap band, but after talking to Dr's Friedman and Pryor I've decided to go with RNY. There are several reasons. The first is that she thought I would be happier with the results if I had RNY. I have about 200 lbs to lose! Another reason is the upkeep involved with Lap Band.

I go into DRH on Friday March 5th for my barium swallow, EKG, and stomach x-rays. Dr. Pryor said I could be having surgery in a month!!! I can hardly believe it. Everything seems to be happening so fast, but I am prepared, having done my research!
