Thursday check-in (Please share with us!)
Good Morning Everyone!
How was your day yesterday? Do you have any plans for today? Come on in and share, feel free to just ramble away.
Yesterday was a day of travel and meetings. I had intended on spending some time shopping while in the Raleigh area, but was only able to squeeze in 15 -20 minutes as World Market. But all in all the day was more pleasant then most work days lately.
Today will be another jam packed day at work. Our office downsizing had been implemented this week. There were job eliminations, layoffs and work hours lost. Those of us that are still full-time will have added responsibilities. I will really miss those that will not be returning when and if the economy starts looking up again.
I know I really miss the SUN. Last weekend seems so very long ago and like the SUN was just giving us a tease for springtime. I want more!
Have a WONDERFUL day!
Good mornin', ya'll.
My poor DIL. Eight hours before her flight the airlines called to say one leg had been cancelled and gave her new flight info. She was up literally all night trying to get a schedule that would work for her and everyone involved in picking her up, etc. Three hours before the flight she thought she had it all taken care of. I got her to the airport at 5 AM yesterday. She gets to Atlanta and text's our daughter (who was gonna pick her up) the new plans. Our daughter (who flies ALL the time), says, check your ticket there is no direct flight from ATL to EUG. She looks and OMG the agent had her going to EGE (Vail, Colorado) instead of EUG (Eugene, Oregon). More scrambling! More stops along the way. So instead of getting into EUG at 2 PM, she got in at nearly midnight! Her return flights are just as meandering. Funny thing (NOT), one agent was gonna charge her $150 to make the flight change to get her where she was ORIGINALLY supposed to go!!! My DIL can be very vocal and a bit of a biotch when need be.
My WBC was 10.2 yesterday. Hooray. I can continue with my chemo next Wednesday and I won't need a transfusion. I told the tech I had had a talk with my white blood cells and told them to 'go forth and multiply'. I guess that and the neupogen shots helped!
My weight is SLOWLY backing down to where it used to be before I had an unfill. One of the big problems is, I just have no energy or stamina to exercise. I can only do 3 minutes on the eliptical before I am limp! But I am trying to do that at least twice a day. I will keep doin' what I have to do to get where I have to be. Both weight-wise and health-wise. Cancer is a real pain in the backside!
Have a fantabulous day.
The scar tissue complication seems to be going better after 4th dilitation and steroid injection. I am eating more this week than before the surgery. When I say more I mean I actually can get in my protein and fluids and vitamins all in the same day. I do not have to choose which option has to go. This is huge for me. I wonder if anyone else has tried the grilled chiken leg without the skin from KFC. It is the most moist chiken and goes down very easy compare to other meats for me.
Anyway my week is great, hope all you RNY's are doing great also. I am closer to saying I would do it over again. Hoping to string 2 weeks of proper eating together. We will see
Have a good Thursady for tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I am delighted that things are looking up for you. Believe me when I tell you that the time will come when you will be glad you made this decision in life.
At almost 3 years post op I still have problems with chicken and pork. I was a chicken eater prior to surgery and hardly ever had beef or pork. Now it is beef most of the time. Even a good medium rare steak is good to me. Now I can not eat heated up left over meats at all.
What will work for one of us, may not work for another. What works one day for us, may not work the next day.
Have a FANTASTIC day!
I planned on going back to the local Weigh****chers meetings this week but with out of town company I didn't make it so I went to the online site. Lo and behold when I track my food using the points system - I'm right where I need to be including the snacks. That's reassuring but frustrating at the same time. I think I just need to relax and let it go for a while. Upping the activity level and exercise is getting easier and once time changes again next month and I have some extra daylight after I get home in the evening then I really should have no excuses what-so-ever.
Hope everyone has a great day - I can almost see the weekend on my horizon so I'm guessing that I've made it through another work week.

Yesterday I had a good day eating but last night did not go so well. Since seafood is "soft" food, I tried broiled shrimp. well let's say I know what everyone means now about food getting stuck, and feeling like you have to throw up. Wow, what a hurt too. Guess it was not the best choice for me. Thankfully it is not one of my favorite foods! I have really enjoyed the peanutbutter Now that is something that tastes good and is satisfying.
Today has been good so far, I am able to see the top on my desk from being out of work for 2 weeks. today has been an egg day for me since they sit well in my "tiny tummy". One thing I will have to get more diligent about is excersize. It is still too cold for me to walk outside and I am still having pain (tighness) in my left side around one of my insisions. Hopefully this will go away to I can do a more agressive workout.
Guess I better get back to wor****il next time......
