Good Morning Everyone!

How was your weekend?  Do you have plans for today?  Come on in and share with us, please feel free to just ramble away!

Although I missed the support group meeting, I still had a FANTASTIC weekend!  The sun was here the entire weekend to give me some extra energy.  On Saturday we participated in a chili cook-off.  It was not what I originally planned for my Saturday, but in spite of myself, I had a great time.  I laughed so much that I had brain freeze at times.  There were 25 different entries and not a one was like the one before it.  The ingredients were as varied as the participants.  The winner received around 30 votes and there were was some that did not receive any.  I was proud of my 4 votes.   I would not be able to stand and serve chili for more than 5 hours if not for my RNY.  I did not get a brea****il after the contest ended.

After the cook-off as I was roaming around the motorcycle dealership I ran into someone I hadn't seen in at least 20 years.  He recognized me before I did him and said he could not believe I was the same person both in appearance and character.  He kept looking at me then hugging me and told his girlfriend that he could not believe it was me.  My user name is GOODY and it has been my nickname since school days because I would never do anything "questionable".  I guess having a motorcycle license at the age of nearly 49 and riding a Harley is considered
questionable!

Even after more than 5 hours of standing and serving, I was able to go to Sam's and Walmart to do my weekly shopping.  Then I finished the day with 4 loads of laundry.  Each time I think that my WOW moments are long over, I am totally amazed at myself in what I can now accomplish after RNY.

Yesterday the beautiful day brought the first bike ride of the new year for me.  It was so nice out I did not even need my heavy gloves.  I always feel so free when riding.  Unlike driving a car, I can't afford to allow my mind to wonder.  I need to focus on the rode before me and my surroundings constantly. I did not realize how much I missed riding.

We stopped for lunch at Smokey Bones and as we were leaving it happened again.  Fred and I were walking toward our bikes as we were putting on our helmets when I recognized some friends we haven't seen since my surgery.  It was a husband and wife that smiled at me at first then when they realized it was me, did a double take and said they could not believe it was me.  It was the first time they had seen me in slacks let alone jeans and a leather coat.  Jack and Maryanne both said they could not believe it was actually me.  They looked at Fred and asked how I had gotten so corrupted!

I really needed this weekend to focus on something other than my work.  So now I feel like I can handle whatever day has to offer.  But then again, I always feel that way until 5 minutes into my work day!!!!!

Today the rain is predicted, but I will take that if it means that I can have a SUN filled weekend.

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Monday.

I'm glad the weekend is over.  LOL  I really didn't do good at all.
DH played music both Fri and Sat. night at a Convention so you know what that means.  Food food more food and drink.  Well I'm gonna make up for it today.  After I post I'm going for my walk.  I up my walk from 2 miles to 2 1/2 miles.  So that really helps then its on to housework.  The floors are getting it today.   Then I get to work tonight.  Lucky me.
Everyone have a good day.

Sharon
