Hump Day check-in
How was your day yesterday? What are your plans for today? Come on in and share with us, feel free to just ramble away.
This is my 4th attempt to post. Lets hope it is successful.
I am feeling like a NEGATIVE NELLIE and for that I apologize. I was brought up that if you didn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. But if I were to practice that now, you would never hear from me. Although that may not be a bad thing for some of you, you are stuck with me!
Yesterday was a day like so many lately, I was in bed at 6:30 last night with a migraine. I knew when I could not keep anything down it was time to call it a day.
Today is another day and there is a promise of sunshine today. SUN = Happy ME!
Hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Hi Carrie,
I know what you mean about feeling a little uncomfortable about not being able to be full of 'sunshine' with your posts, but sometimes the days are cloudy and it's okay to say so.
I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling and that you are suffering those painful migraines. I'd bet that they are being triggered by the significant stress you are incurring at the office. I hope that abates soon.
We are still struggling through my FILs decline and are functioning about 4 hours of interrupted sleep a night. Dale formally entered hospice yesterday and to be honest, I'm not sure that he will make it through week, much less the month. We pray for wisdom, guidance and strength as our family moves through this difficult life passage.
I made a baked chicken divan with homemade rice pilaf, glazed carrots and a salad for dinner. My whole family was delighted to have a 'mom meal'. I modified an old recipe to lighten up from a fat and carb perspective. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and didn't seem to miss the extra calories, but enjoyed the 'comfort food' aspect of the meal.
My GI tract seems to be back in gear. Thank goodness! I'm working hard to stay hydrated and I think that will go a long way. I'm also making sure that meals have plenty of brocolli, carrots, salad, etc... to keep/get things moving and keep the pounds off.
I have no idea what I'm going to do for meals today, but I'll clean out the fridge, check the freezer and plan for something healthy.

Walked the dogs early and totally enjoyed some greek yogurt 0% fat and plain.
I did add a snack size container of peaches I really enjoyed this for breakfast.
BTW Dannon now is selling Greek yogurt for a 16oz size for $2.29
The other day I watched what I thought was a well done lecture on Net Flix called
Eating Well for Optimum Health given by Dr. Andrew Weil it was very informative.
I totally enjoy watching streaming video and Net Flix has lots of streaming videos to offer.
Have lots of cleaning to do today and errands to run and do my weights and sit ups.

I love, love greek yogurt. I have had to stop eating it due to my increasing sensitivity to lactose. Even with the lactaid pills it bothers me now. About the only dairy I can still tolerate is butter and hard cheeses.
Dr. Weil is very informative. I love reading his articles and have read a few of his books. He is in Prevention magazine every month.
Never fear I am never to far from my OH family.
For almost two years I have been lactose intolerant well on December 23rd at a family dinner I was served a small amount of some mint ice cream OMG it was tasty best I ever had.
After eatting it I relized OMG I am doing ok it did not hit me like milk products in the past so that told me maybe the lactose thing has turned around.
I dont like to test the waters too much.
From my understanding products like yogurt and cottage cheese are processed differently than say milk.
I really like Dr. Weil myself and enjoy his approach and out look on food.
Some may disagree but my pouch really does very well with complex carbs such as whole grains and beans.
He did touch on glycemic levels and foods it was very intresting and made lots of sense to me.
