First Appointment
Compounding this situation is that on Wednesday I was told that I will be teaching 4th grade starting on Monday. I am normally a reading specialist and pull small groups of kids that have reading deficits. The 4th grade teacher I'm covering for is on maternity leave and they had to fire the long term sub that was in the room. So for the next 4 weeks I will teach 4th grade while the regular teacher takes an extended maternity leave! My principal is not going to be happy when I tell her I'm going to need a whole day off, but hopefully she'll understand.
I'm so excited for my first appointment! I will let you know how it goes!
I had my surgery through the program at Duke, as did my husband. I've heard very good things about Dr. Pryor and I've been very pleased with the counseling and nutritional support we've received from them. Duke has a thorough program. Be sure to line up your questions for the different specialists. They will likely be providing you with some hand-outs that will cover the information that you will be getting in the visits.
They also have a monthly support group that meets on the 4th Tuesday evening of each month. If at all possible, it would be good if you can try to make those meetings. You will find them informative and you will also meet others at various junctures of their own journey's.
I also host a monthly support group on the 3rd Saturday of each month. If you would like information about the support group meetings that I host, you can get more information at http://www.meetup.com/nc-wls
Wishing you all the best as you make this incredible, life-changing journey.
