Carrie- where are you????

OK gang what's going on in your part of the world? Any big plans for the big Valentines weekend coming up? Anything you feel especially thankful for today and want to share? Anything really upsetting your balance and you need to air it out? Anybody want to complain about how commercialized Valentines Day has become - thus my affectionate term for it as VD? Come on and put it out there....

The sun is shining here in Northeastern NC. It's cold and windy but hey the SUN IS ACTUALLY SHINING!!!! I think the weather has really played havoc with my moods this winter. I've never really noticed it before but now that I think about it this was the first winter in over 8 years that I wasn't on anti-depressants.

Does anybody have any insight into the current thoughts about food additives and dyes being the base reason for misbehavior in children? I'm so having to deal with that right now. The ex claims that's the sole reason that the 5 year old is acting up in school. hmmmmmmmm.....I'm still digesting that one. I'm way old school on parenting - tell them NO and then follow through with that. Parentling isn't easy and it's not for wimps.

I'm a relatively liberal, rarely spank kind of parent... That said, lines have to be drawn and enforced with kids re: respect and behavior issues. Does this child behave like this in your presence or only when allowed by the parent/school? hmmm... 

It's mild here in sunny CA, low 60's during the day and low 40's at night,so it seems downright balmy compared to what you all are dealing with right now. 

It looks like dad maybe coming home later today if all goes well after his biopsy. They are telling us that he is likely to have a few weeks... maybe 3 to 8... We are getting a new articulating split queen bed for my in-laws and moving them into a larger room today.  I'm having medical equipment delivered today and we are hoping he'll be home later today. 

On the Barbara front... I'm trying to eat and generally doing okay, but I don't think I'm drinking nearly enough and have developed a serious issue with constipation. UGH!! I haven't had this issue in more than a year and I HATE it!! I'm taking Miralax and hope for a 'Miracle' soon because this is just one more thing and I don't 'need', but then who does? Enough whining. 

It's good to have Ben and Sarah here to help. Our sons and DILs are just being fabulous and my friend/SIL is as well. We are unfortunately having some family drama, but trying to keep that at a minimum as we do all we can to support mom and dad. 

There are discussions of our moving to CA. I have such mixed feelings about this. While I would love to be close to my kids and extended family, I have to say that I know that this would be an incredibly difficult move for all of us in the short term and more so for me in the long term as I would become my MILs primary caregiver... I continue to contemplate and pray for wisdom as we look at the upcoming options and how they will impact all of our lives. 

Today started out so great.  I felt really good, my spirits were riding high, thought this was the perfect day.  Applied for a new job,  went got my hair colored makes me feel younger and sexy, went and had a massage.  It was all about me thought I'm taking it easy today and fix a really nice dinner for DH and it came to a crashing halt.  MIL is sending money to a jail bird even after I prove to her it was a really really bad idea.  I'm trying to look out for her and she says how much she appreciates it then she does then exact opposite.  Drives me nuts.  So now I'm the bad guy again. Had to clear my head went for a 2 mile walk, which after a massage your not suppose to do much well now I'm tense all over, got home from walk had a message from the ESC office the form I filled out for the job was wrong form gotta do it all over by tomorrow.  Can't win today.
Just wanted to vent.

Doing well been dealing with some mother issues but that seems to be doing better.
We had to have some fireplace work done on the fireplace yesterday and I am so pleased with the people that came to fix it.
Lee turn's 48 on Sunday yes he is a valentines baby.
We are going to take mother out on Saturday for dinner and spend a quite day at home on Sunday.
Yesterday at HT I found a chocolate bar called seeds of change.
It is dark chocolate with cherries and vanilla.
First I cant belive I enjoyed some dark chocolate OMG in the past it had to be milk chocolate for me.
The good news is the servings are divided up when you open it.
My mind wanted more of course but when you get down to it one serving made me happy and I put the rest up for another day.
For a birthday cake I bought the 100 calorie packs of hostess cakes.

Saturday I am going to Target to find out some info on the demo people there.
My friend said there where six demo people there last week and they were getting 85 dollars for a 4 hour event.
Becky and I love working together and she said she would love it if we could get on at Target again.
Other than that I walked the dogs this morning and going to do 30 minutes on the elliptical.
