Good Morning Everyone!

How was your weekend?  Do you have any plans for today?  Come on in and share, feel free to ramble.

The weekend started out with a wonderful massage and then lots of errands.  Yesterday was more relaxing with just a few chores to complete before the work week.  DH waited for the weekend coming to a close to inform me that his office started their downsizing on Friday afternoon.  He still has a job, but some very good people do not.  He did not want me to dwell on it all weekend long so he waited to tell me.

Today is another work day for me.  I am very grateful that both DH and I have jobs to report to today.  I just hope it will be work as usual with no added drama for today.

The sun is scheduled to shine today which is a very good thing for me.  I am planning on going to the water aerobics class tonight after work.  I need to get back in the habit of going 3 times a week.  I have tried other forms of exercise and can't seem to stick to anything.  I stuck with the classes for more than a year before attempting to find a replacement.

Wishing EVERYONE a WONDERFUL Monday!   Please keep safe!

Good Morning

I'm glad the weekends over.  I don't do well meal wise on weekends.  I don't do bad but could do much better.  I'm working days today and tomorrow but nights on the weekend.  I really hate the night shift because I revert back to old habits of grazing, just to stay awake.  I am trying to graze on good stuff.  Plenty of protein, avoid sugars and fat but eating non stop is not good.
A beautiful day but terribly cold.  and more rain for tomorrow just what we don't need.
Carrie I'm like you, I've  got to get back to the water aerobics  maybe tomorrow night
Everyone have a great day

Sharon,

Do you chew gum?  This seems to help with the grazing for me.  I also depend on coffee (my transfer addiction) and herbal teas.  There is something very comforting about the warm liquids.

Enjoy the sunshine today, for tomorrow it will be gone.

Good Morning!!!! I watched an incredibly beautiful sunrise this morning. It is undoubtedly my most favorite time of the day.

It was a whirlwind weekend. It seems to have all happened in a blur.

Friday night was the Poker party at the house and that went over without the first hitch. I love to fuss over David and his friends. Apparently they enjoy it as well. My boys were life savers and pulled in the driveway right behind me to bring in the groceries and help with prep work. By the time David got home and brought in his 8 friends - everything was done.

Saturday was Wayne Thomas's traditional family birthday dinner. I cannot believe that my "baby" turned 18 this weekend. That meant more cleaning, shopping and cooking. We always hold the family dinners at my Mom's house because there are at least 20 of us. By the time all of showed up we had 28 this time. To make it even more stressful - my stepfather's sister is in the hospital with pneumonia and she;s in the final stages of ovarian cancer. She is an incredible woman - 89 years young. She was just diagnosed near Christmas. So knowing that my my Mom wanted to be in both places as much as possible - I told her to go to the hospital and just be back in time to eat. Cooking for a crowd is always interesting but when you do it in someone else's house makes it a little more ----well it's different.  Once again my boys came to the rescue and helped with prep working, taking off the garbage and some general housework that my Mom clearly appreciated.

Sunday was much more laid back. We all had breakfast out before Buddy headed back to school in Augusta. And of course it was one more reason to celebrate Wayne's birthday. Of all things he asked for a trip to the grocery store as his birthday present (he's living on his own). So being the foodie Moma that I am - we went and we shopped and shopped and shopped.  He now has a pantry, freezer and fridge full of healthy stuff.

Thank goodness for leftovers - there was no cooking going on yesterday. It was life actually having a day off. So this morning I'm refreshed and ready to go. My scales are really playing with my head. For some reason I stepped on them this morning - and they're down nearly 2 pounds since Friday morning's official weigh in. WHATEVER. That proably means they'll be up come Friday.

Okay - enough of my rambling. Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Morning all...

I worked all weekend and we were busy...never without at least 3 patients in the ER and most of the time more...what is wrong with people that they come to the ER at 3 in the morning for a sore throat that they have had for 4 days???

I made it to the gym this morning and worked hard for 45 min...Got home and sat down for a few min on this computer and plan to get a bath and hit the bed soon.

Downsizing is scary...I hesitate to say it because you never know these days...but my boyfriend of the past 9 months has lost his job and it is driving him crazy because he can't find anything...I am trying to be supportive and he is becoming more and more depressed.  He has always worked and never been without a job for the past 38 years...doesn't know what to do with himself...and I can't help him....anyone know of a job for a great, hard working electrical designer???

Don't have a clue what else the day holds for me....but I am tired and bath and bed is calling me...

Check back later folks!

Hi Shelia,

I understand about your BF's issues. My husband is suffering the same fate. I would strongly suggest that he consider doing some volunteer work. It's good for the soul and it will help him feel productive. If he can do something that showcases his talents all the better, but even if not, I find it helps and it might even help him find a job because he'll network and develop more contacts.

Take care,

I feel like the kitty on rope that is hanging on by it's toenails. There's a lot of 'drama' regarding Ben's folks and as well as 'drama' regarding issues for my mother. Of course stress regarding dad's condition, managing things for mom, etc... are ongoing. Ben and Sarah are scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning.

I'm going to go take my supplements, get mom up, make us some breakfast then go see dad. I'll make lunch when we get home, I guess.

I'm not sure why, but I'm losing weight. I've been eating, but not enough I guess. I think I'm kind of doing breakfast, lunch and something for dinner, but not the snacks I normally do. Maybe that's why my weight has dropped several lbs in the last week. I need to work on it.

Well, I'd better go clean out the fridge, throw some more laundry in and do some other housekeeping before I get mom up and start the day.

Wishing you all well,

Barbara
