Can anyone recommend a good tasting protein drink/shake for my presurgery diet?  I have a strawberry/kiwi and a chocolate.  The strawberry/kiwi tastes okay but getting sick of the tast already.  The chocolate is okay but not the best tasting.  I have only been on this liquid diet for 3 days and still have 2 and a half weeks to go.  Any suggestions?

By the way,
I'm hungry!!!!!

I like the Necter iced tea mixed in with crystal lite lemonade. One scoop is 23 grams of protein and I mix it with 8 ounces of cool water and eight ounces of CL.

I was about to ask the same thing!  What brands and where to get them from?  Also what amount of protein per shake should I look for and what is too much sugar and carbs?
Thanks, sorry to add but I seriously was about to post the same thing.

I enjoy Muscle milk... they also make a muscle milk light that is 100 Cals... i just found that out a few months ago. If you go the Muscle milk website there is a place where you can look up where to buy them at local.. I can not help with that, i have mine shipped into me. That is a big pain in itself..
chin up, keep going, we've all been there and we all will be here for you.
You can get through these two weeks.. :c)
take care

HI Lisa - A good place to buy Muscle Milk is Costco - they actually have the powder type in a big tub and they have the ready to drink (RTD) shakes too.  I believe that the powder is one of their current coupon specials.  They also have the protein bullets in different fruit flavors.  I'm not a big fan of those personally, but I did find that if I mixed them in a larger serving of a crystal light or kool-aid type drink they weren't too bad.  Two of my favorite protein drinks are the much cheaper ones that I find at Walmart by Body Fortress in both chocolate and vanilla.  I think they are some of the best i have tasted and by far the cheapest.  Good luck and just remember that everyone's tastes are really different and can even change after surgery!

Take care,
Rhonda

I did the optifast before but after I did Nectar Sweets Chocolate Truffle.  Really good.  You can order it at www.syntrax.com.  It's the best I've found that doesn't taste like protein.

I got the strawberry/kiwi at The Vitamin Store.  It is good but I have to switch it off with different flavors or I get tired of it. When is your group session with Amber?  Mine is today at 1:00.

I go the week before surgery on the 22nd.  Then pre op stuff with Fuzz and anethesiolgist on the 25th.
Today has been very hard being the first day. How are you doing? You should a be a week into the diet by now right?
Was the first few days the hardest?
