Good Morning Everyone!

How was your day yesterday?  Do you have any plans for today?  Come on in and share with us.  Feel free to just ramble away (God knows I do)!

I am so very thankful for each of you.  Coming here each day helps me keep more accountable and reading your messages each day means so much.  This thread is my version of a family sitting around the dinner table sharing their day.  I am one of five children and when I was growing up the family ate dinner around the table every night together.

Although I have been very busy at work and the day just flies by, I find I have been able to manage the stress aspect of my job in a much better way this week.  I tend to take on the roll of the peacemaker both at work and in family issues.  I have decided to step away and allow others to find their own way.  This has seemed to help at work anyway.

I also have discovered that on the days that I seem to be munchie, it is a result of not allowing more frequent snacks/meals and waiting too long between meals.  I was waiting more than 6 hours to eat and then could not figure out why I needed to graze the rest of the day to make up for it.  So for today my goal is to have at least 6 mini meals that still stay within my nutrition/calorie goals.  When reviewing my food logs, I found I do better when my protein is at least 100 grams/day.

I have no exciting plans for today.  I am just grateful that it is Thursday and one more day closer to the weekend.

Tell me about your plans.

Wishing you each a FANTASTIC Thursday.

Good morning!

I guess I am waiting for daylight...I got up way too early and want to go to the gym, but am waiting for daylight...So I am doing my computer stuff and sipping on a protein shake.

When I get back, I have got to get started on an English assignment.  I truly could care less about being an RN because the hospital pays me very well as an LPN...I have money to pay my bills, put some in savings and travel when I want....but I do want a job for another 10 years or so and there are no guarantees these days, so I am trying to be compliant.

But back to the English assignment - I have to read 3 chapters and answer some questions...I perfer factual things, rather than things left to interpretation of the reader.  But I will struggle thru...

Did some housework yesterday...much needed...and plan to do a few more things today.  It is wet here and every time the dog goes out, in comes the mud...But more snow is expected and I just can't push myself to mop again and again...I am one of those people that feels that once you do something it oughta last a lonnnnggg time!

I am on call for the hospital, but secretly hope they don't call me in...I like the money, but I am working all weekend and need to regroup today.

Have a great day everyone!

Shelia - I'm just like you on the housework should last a long time. I'll catch myself on Thursday night getting the house straight so I don't have to mess with it on the weekend and when I realize that we have the kids that particular weekend - I just quit. I'll do it on Sunday evening after they go home. It's not worth bickering about while they're there - I want them to have fun and enjoy their Dad - not go home with horror stories about "Iris the shoe nazi".

Carrie - I had that same epiphany about the small meals = success for me type strategy.

No big plans over here...wondering if the weathermen have a clue about what we should expect this weekend. I changed up how I do my floor exercises and apparently I did alot more "push ups" and upper body stuff  than I had thought because I'm sore this morning. Guess tonight will be a Wii Fit nite and a few crunches before bed.

Good morning,

Carrie... I have to agree that I find strength in comfort from my friends here... both those I have had the pleasure of getting a warm hug from and those I have only met virtually. Thank you all for your caring support and for coming back day after day. The support is invaluable and I think it will help us all get where we want to be... Healthy!

I am hoping today will be a better day. I had trouble sleeping last night. I feel like a keep one eye open and I wake at every noise. I am absolutely in awe of my son who has been living with my in-laws for a few years and has been functioning as their care-giver. He is a big, tough, tattooed plumber, and he is a kind, considerate, gentle, caring man. I couldn't be more proud of him, my other son and my daughter's in law; but it is Mike that ministers to his grand-parents constantly. He's giving them their morning meds this morning as I write this and is taking my FIL in to get a whirlpool bath to ease his discomfort this morning before he heads out to work.

Today, I was hoping to see my own mother for a few minutes, but I may not be able to make it work with her schedule and my own. I have a lot of cleaning, laundry and some grocery shopping to do today. I also need to schedule medical and legal appointments for them. I am hoping for a quieter day overall.

Tomorrow we go to see the oncologist and I have to admit that I'm dreading it.

As soon as I'm done on the computer, I'll go see about getting some breakfast and try to make sure that I eat. Instead of gaining, right now I'm losing. I know that this is going to be a long haul and I want to be able get through it well. I forgot my supplements when I headed out and I'll need to get some more when I go to the store...

Well, I hope we all have a good day today.

Warmly,

Barbara
