New recipe - Country Cabbage Soup

Thought maybe someone would be interested in this recipe I found since it's going to be a cold weekend.

2 lbs ground beef
1 med head cabbage, chopped
2 onions, chopped
6 ribs celery, chopped
2 - 28oz cans stewed tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste

Brown ground beef in large saucepan or stockpot.  Drain. Return to pan and add cabbage, onion, tomatoes, and celery (although I didn't use celery - don't care for it).  Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and coo****il veggies are soft.  Recipe says 25 minutes but I let mine cook a lot longer.  Looks like there's not going to be enough juice for the "soup" but the veggies cook down and it ends up being like a "stoup".  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Mmmmm... When the weather clears maybe I'll get some cabbage and give it a try.

It's very good.  In fact while I was waiting for it to cool so I could put it in the fridge, I kept going by the pot and "tasting".  I would take too many bites and then feel terrible!  Old habits....

Don't feel terrible. You are realizing that you need to keep an eye on old habits. That said, you are 'indulging' in something that won't undo you and maybe we all need a little something to indulge in that is 'safe.'
